Donnelley’s wingspan has been the subject to controversy for many years, he apparently had the “longest arm in pugilism” while he was active. His arm’s been passed around pubs in Ireland, kinda messed up lol

I believe Wikipedia. His arms were of normal length for his height. If his arms were that long why no concrete proof. Also wouldn't if affect his fighting due too the styles of the day. He'd have to stay so far from his opponent to punch effectively he'd need a very big modern ring. According to Wikipedia he was 6ft tall. Liston was listed at 6.1/5ft tall with an 84 inch reach. Look at pictures of him. He had a proven 84inch reach and his hands didn't reach his knees from a standing position. Donnelley's reach would probably have to be 90 inches. Ridiculous urban legend.
