If it was a fighter, the question would be who.

I haven't watched it yet, but Soto Karass and Macias broke the Comoubox record.

Mairis Briedis vs. Oleksandr Usyk high pace, high skill, but not dramatic or special.

Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tony Bellew no

Murat Gassiev vs. Yunier Dorticos saw the first four rounds and it would have to get a lot better to be foty

Srisaket Sor Rungvisai vs. Juan Francisco Estrada front runner

Deontay Wilder vs. Luis Ortiz no

Deontay WIlder vs. Tyson Fury two rounds don't make a great fight

Alexander Povetkin vs. David Price no

Oleksandr Gvozdyk vs. Adonis Stevenson haven't seen but doubt its that good

Saul Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin II high level reasonably fast pace but needed to either be faster or end in a knockout

Erislandy Lara vs. Jarrett Hurd third best I've seen.

Jaime Munguia vs. Liam Smith did I see this? Munguia doesn't impress me.

Nawaphon Kaikanha vs. Amnat Ruenroeng this I liked a lot. Bad intentions, meaningful punches. But didn't last long enough or fast enough and the fighters weren't stars.

Damien Hooper vs. Renold Quinlan didn't see

Danny Garcia vs. Shawn Porter no

Artur Beterbiev vs. Callum Johnson some sloppy boxing big power and stumbling like drunks isn't high drama

Adrien Broner vs. Jessie Vargas didn't see

Daniel Jacobs vs. Maciej Sulecki no, lackluster performance against a nobody

Daniel Jacobs vs. Sergiy Derevyanchenko had its moments but not nearly enough

Jose Carlos Ramirez vs. Antonio Orozco loved it but too one sided

Jorge Linares vs. Vasyl Lomachenko second best I've seen

Adonis Stevenson vs. Badou Jack alright but hardly special

Worst year I can think of. I keep waiting to hear that something spectacular happened in south america or Asia which has largely flown under our USA/UK centric radars.

Well it's good to see people have calmed down now and most have not mentioned Fury Vs Wilder.

It was bang average at absolute best.

Begging your pardon, but I disagree. You see, I keep a chronological list of great fights and I think you have to go back to 1970 or 1972 to find such a lackluster year.

Let me tell you what a great year looks like.
    1951
Jersey Joe Walcott vs Ezzard Charles 3
    Robinson vs LaMotta 6
    Pep vs Saddler 4
    1982
Aaron Pryor vs Alexis Arguello 1
Bobby Chacon vs Rafael Limon 4
    Wilfredo Gomez vs Lupe Pintor
Katsuo Tokashiki vs Lupe Madeira 1
    1995
    Benn vs McClellan
    Sosa vs Williams 1
    Sorjaturong vs Gonzalez
    Pettway vs Brown
    Bowe vs Holyfield 3
    2012
    Marquez vs Pacquioa 4
    Rios vs Alvarado 1, 2
    Guerrero vs Berto
    Salido vs Lopez 2
    Gonzalez vs Estrada

Salido vs Lopez 1 occurred in 2011.
Pep vs Saddler 4 was a pretty ugly wrestling match that belongs nowhere near a list of all time great fights.

This year had a whole bunch of really good fights, but no instant classic. I think my Top 10 for 2018 goes something like this (no order)

    Hurd vs Lara
    SSR vs Estrada
    Tanaka vs Kimura
    Lomachenko vs Linares
    Usyk vs Bredis
    Jacobs vs Derevyenchanko
    Warrington vs Selby
    Canelo vs GGG 2
    Valdez vs Quigg
    Hooker vs Saucedo

Linares-Loma, hands down. I’m not sure why the vast majority of Loma’s hardcore fans don’t use that fight as the prime example of his skills. Does anyone realize how many supposed unbeatables have been beaten in fights like that? A lot. Same reason I hold FMJ in high regard. He doesn’t get enough credit for overcoming adversity. There are at least 7 fights where the potential for an upset was there, even inevitable, given trends, but Floyd pulled through. That is what Loma did in the Linares fight.

Anyway, great fight. I’ve seen it 10x, including a few times in slow mo. There is some brilliant stuff in there from both guys.

Then its a good thing I wrote 2 at the end.
I thought it was stupendous. Pep showed his defensive mastery while Saddler showed offensive mastery.
That's roughly how I see it too.
