watching Ricky Hatton get knocked out in Manchester at 5am was ****ing heartbreaking, never seen as many people gutted since the last time England got taken out of the world cup on penalties.

 

That sounds interesting.. I didn't think about the people watching all over Britain, considering he had so many loyal fans.

What was the reaction like? Did everyone give a simulatenous gasp, "OOHHHHH"? Not making fun of it - just curious since I've been in large groups of people when something shocking happened on T.V., and the whole audience responds in a similar, horrified sound all at the same time.

 

everytime i watch a big fight, i shake like a nervous girl on prom night. My girl doesnt understand why i get so involved... even watching replays of old fights. even though i know who wins.... well im sure many know what im talking about. esp if your a former fighter or have ever been in the ring.

 

Well, I'd probably be thinking that this is impossible, and that biased American judges/referees are involved

Then I'd wake up, because that is the only way this can happen

Funny for you, maybe. I couldn't believe my eyes. Watching Golota get DQ'ed the 1st fight wasn't bad enough. He had to pull the same thing again! I don't know which one hurt more...Yes I do. The 2nd Bowe fight was the real killer! What a war & AG was gonna win on pts., if he just went 3 minutes & 3 seconds longer.

WOW................When Tito lost that fight, I swear I was sad as hell, almost like a 9/11 hangover......Honestly, it took me about 6 months to watch that fight again, and only because of my respect for Bernard's skills..I had forgotten some of the exchanges in the fight and had to watch again....I couldn't believe Tito lost that fight with Roy Jones on the horizon....

Not to disparage Roy, but that is my #1 moment in boxing HISTORY..:yep

seeing gatti's last 3 losses really bummed me out , i could see the floyd one even though i wanted gatti to win , when he fought baldomir you could see that baldomir was too big and strong , it was depressing watching that , but the gomez loss made me sick , i guess because a prime gatti would of had no problem w/ gomez ( thats not a knock on gomez ) , just the fact that gatti was at the end of his road , i miss watching him fight but im glad he walked away and can still have a life outside of the ring . i was pretty depressed when vargas lost to delahoya , and miranda losing to pavlik , but kelly's a great fighter and class act so he made a fan out of me

Yea I had to walk away from the TV. I couldn't watch the replays of it for like a month.

 

yeah it was kinda like that, when floyd was hitting Ricky with combinations towards the end you could here a collective sigh of pain, but Ricky always looked like he was trying to get back into it right until the last few seconds, so people were still cheering him on right until the end.

There were people crying I **** you not, it was horrible, the first 5 minutes after the fight the place felt like a ****ing funeral. But everyone soon forgot about that and carried on getting pissed soon enough.

 

IMO in order to beat Pavlik, Taylor needs to make some drastic changes to his game, the most obious one is keep of the ropes and not to load up on every punch he throws, thats why he gassed out so quickly. Also something else i notice whenever Pavlik threw a jab Jermain slipped to his left which meant he lent straight into Pavliks right hand. He does have the tools to beat Pavlik, but taking a rematch so soon i don't think he has the time to improve on his flaws and TBH i expect to see the same JT, especially seing as he took back Ozzell Nelson who was the source to all JT's flaws. At this point Pavliks just has Taylors number.

This is coming from a huge Taylor fan aswell, but im still rooting for Taylor 100% and if he wins it would seriously make my year :thumbsup , if he loses IMO he's still the 2nd best Middleweight out there.
