his right hand. He doesn't throw it straight, but he can. He threw that thing on the ropes and in flurries like hitting a heavy bag. Very impressed. His left hook is his best shot, but the right hand had Brook elevate his game because he had to look out for all of GG's shots. Brook just got worn down. GG doesn't have one punch power, but his one shot can hurt you though. GG did shake Brook. He hit Brook hard, but couldn't put him down. A welterweight. Ok try to criticize that and I'll say look at the damage he inflicted on Brook. GG gets a lot of leverage on his shots if you don't hit him back. I asked if Brook could take the pain. He did, but for only 5+ rounds. Albeit Hagler saw better days, Sugar Leonard took the pain for 12. Swollen arms, hands, and ribs.
It is impressive that he rendered an impressive, elite Kell Brook unable to continue in less than 5 rounds and is still be criticised . Mediocre talents don't inspire that kind of blind hate.
Of course he has a good right hand. That's his signature punch. 23KOs in a row. But its been against bums. He didn't even beat Brook with it. He beat him with his size. It was a left that broke the smaller mans orbital bone.
He was supposed to. Brook is a WW. Albeit a very good WW. But, his only significant win there was a close win against Shawn Porter. GGG is the hardest hitting most feared guy from 154-168, according to most. It was an expected outcome. What is surprising is how effective Brook was.
Yeah I was one of the ones who said it was an easy fight...and it was, but the viciousness that he attacked him with was impressive. That's what you do, and GG did it in style. GG showed his whole arsenal and Brook didn't have a chance. He even said ok you landed a good punch. He didn't care where he landed, where Brook moved, he treated him like a punching bag.
What I saw was just a stronger fighter going all in agaisnt a smaller fighter. I didn't see the fight live, I missed it (forgot it was in England). I read few threads here and thought the fight was fearly competitive. What I saw though was the total opposite. GGG always moved forward (almost) and definitely landed the biggest shot in each and every round (except one). It was a domination. Brook has real courage though and diserve respect.
Yeah, that's a good assessment. Also did any of you guys think it was a legit KD in the third? I see a slow mo on twitter and it looked legit to me
What impressed me the most about GGG was his psychological game. Brook hurt his ass with the straight right, uppercut and that check left hook. As a matter of fact, he drew first blood on GGG because he busted his nose but his corner cleaned it up real fast. GGG had to keep up the appearance that Brook was not hurting him and he did that. However, he knew that he couldn't afford to have the fight go long because there was a real chance of him losing and that's why he mounted an all out assault on Brook in the fifth. Brook took his best shots and didn't go down or stagger. The shot from GGG that damaged his eye was the punch of the fight because it was the one that won the fight for GGG. Everything else thrown by GGG was survivable. GGG was relieved when the fight was stopped.
