Alot of posters here on ESB are enamored with Pryor.

......but here's the lowdown on the Arguello-Pryor fight......the fight was held in the Miami Superdome.
Miami it turns out did'nt have a boxing commision.
A makeshift commision supervised the fighters, and it turns out that there was no pre or postfight drug tests.

Panama Lewis loaded Resto's wraps, took away padding from his gloves, and gave Resto crushed asthma pills mixed in a water bottle inbetween rounds......and this was in Madison square Garden where there is a boxing commision.......you do the math and just imagine what a Panama Lewis was up to just months earlier with Pryor in Miami against Alexis Arguello with a makeshift boxing commsion that did'nt have a clue what the hell they were doing.:-(

Not only was Pryor being given crushed asthma pills to open up his lungs and make his breathing easier......but he may well have had his wraps loaded as well.

.....and if that does'nt convince some of you idiots, here's a link to an ESB article that quotes Emmanuel Steward of Pryor telling him that he "I'm worried heading into the Arguello rematch, and telling him in uncertain terms that he got away with some shady practices with Panama in his corner.

    Here's the link.......
    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=20737&more=1

.....about half way through that article Emmanuel has this quote.........

"Another one was the second fight with Alexis Arguello and Arron Pryor, when Pryor asked me to train him. He was afraid going into the rematch with Arguello because Panama Lewis had been arrested and put in jail at the time, and he was the guy who trained him for the first fight, and even though he never admitted it in so many words, he told me that they were basically getting by with some kind of things that were not legal."

Yeah this is where I am , there will not be any drugs , absolutely not , as this would do more harm than good.

If anything a sugary substance which would give an immediate boost .

You clearly dont know much about rehydration in sports then do you.

A marathon runner wouldnt be caught taking drugs half way through a race as this would not only increase their heart beat tremendously , but also affect their nervous systems . Where are a fructose or Glucose addition will improve their stamina and strength.

    This .

    peace out.

Who was winning at the time Pryor was handed the alleged 'loaded' bottle? I've Only seen parts of the fight.

Some drug that opens up your lungs. My brother (a doctor) said that the dose was so low that it shouldn't have made a difference.

Pryor... but he was given the bottle just after the 1st round so that doesn't matter much.

I believe he was given the bottle after round 1 and 13.

I disagree. If you watch the documentary you can see for yourself that Panama was telling them that Pryor was drinking from the wrong bottle and Resto himself said it was some kind of medicatlon to help for asthma and it's hard to see why he would lie.

My guess is that you've never seen this documentary, if true, you're not really in a position to comment.
