Pac-Oscar was pretty close a shock for me. Just it wasn't that dramatic as a KO obviously. I was in Europe by that time so I need 1-2 hours to calm down and went asleep at 8 a.m
Haha, I actually have no qualms with Americans, apart from some of their humour being dire, most on this board are stand up guys. They're also not slack jawed ***gots. Where are you from btw? you complain to me about my wit, yet we tend to always cross paths at 2AM in England ffs
anybody to say they werent shocked didnt watch the fight or follow boxing at this time!!! simple as thats bitches.
I cried with joy when he got knocked out. But that was after i nearly woke up the block screaming with joy and happiness.
The feeling was Roy was vulnerable because before their first fight because he had to lose a lot of weight, lost muscle and barely survived that fight to eek out a decision. In the rematch Roy looked so much smaller than Tarver that you had the feeling Jones might get caught, and he got caught. From age 20-35 he was that dude. His time was over after that fight.
Really? At the end of the day it's a sporting event. The biggest shock of my life was my roommate barging thru my door one morning screaming "WE"RE UNDER ATTACK!", then watched with mouth open from the top of my brownstone rooftop as the World Trade methodically crashed down .
well tarver IMO beat him the first fight . still a shock how he ko'd so easily and quickly . where i was at everyone was suprised. obvisouly .
i remember it quite clearly even though i wasn't watching that tarver fight. i was at a wedding and i recieved a text that he got koed in the second round. i told the groom who was a good friend of mine and a rj hater. he somehow managed to add it in to his toast, saying he wanted to thank everyone for sharing this beautiful night with him and his bride and the night just got more beautiful because roy jones had just been koed. and then he lifted up his glass and said to everlasting marraige and to the end of rj. the johnson ko shocked me. i said as i was watching, ok any minute now rj is going to turn it up now and catch johnson coming in so wildly or johnson might slow his pace down. boy was i off.
I was shocked. I was watching at a friends friends house and the guy who owned the house didnt know much about boxing and he said this guy (Tarver) will knock the other guy out (RJJ) Before me and my friend could explain the accomplishments of Roy he was out, limp. And now the guy thinks he knows boxing.
