  1. How about Charles Brewer in 2002, just watched that and JC had to work his ass off for that W, or maybe Chris Eubank???
    Thoughts:huh??

Eubank. He said it himself. He couldn't even walk after that fight. Had to be carried to the bathroom to take a ****.

Robin Reid, Calzaghe's only close fight.

Reid was a world class fighter at his peak.

I would say Robin Reid but Woodhall was a tough fight too. Brewer almost didn't jab, got in a semi-crouched stance and banged away at Calzaghe's body and head - it was a hard fight but not a very intelligent one from "The Hatchet". Kabary Salem was very dirty and rough ( like Reid was), cutted and dropped Cal before travelling all the way to the limit - his trainer also tried to intimidate Calzaghe at the weigh-in and things almost got out of hand.

Robin Reid by far. I gave it to Calzaghe by 1-2 points and Reid wasn't half the fighter Jermain Taylor is.

Kessler was his hardest fight but it was also his best performance.

19th April 2008 against hopkins will be his toughest and hardest fight. Apart from that Reid, Eubank.

Byron Mitchel gave him a tough night.. I was in vegas a few years ago and watched a war between Byron and J C Green, His trainer Al Bonani told me to expect fireworks if they ever got a shot at Joseph and he wasn't wrong..

Joe says it Eubank, that was a hard 12 rounder, his first hard 12 rounder and his first title fight.

Ried was the closest fight he has had.

Brewer was a good tough fight, but Calzaghe was always in control. Mitchell done well but it was all one way traffic before and after he knocked JC down.

  12. Jeez mate, if Robin was the toughest fight, it's a blessing he wasn't in the ropes with Jermain Taylor or Joe would have lost, Taylor was a helluva lot better fighter than Reid was..
Eubank was a hard, skilled man, why no rematch??
Brewer was giving Joe hell, but Joe has stamina that's unbelieveable, he could have been a Marathon runner..

Taylor struggles with light middleweights, he'd get eaten by Calzaghe.

A guy like Taylor who likes to take breaks every round can't compete with somebody like Calzaghe with his punch output.

Why would he give Eubank a rematch? He floored him twice and won a wide decision. Pointless fighting again.

    Ugh...

Lets not go overrating Jermain Taylor or underrated Robin Ried shall we...

he could have had a rematch with Eubank, but why would he, you cant rematch everybody ya beat?

i was sitting ringside at the brewer fight, he was compeitive and it was an action packed 12 rounder, but Calzaghe was always in control.

:good And Eubank wasn't the same fighter who dazzled us against benn or watson.
