When was Robin Reid ever a great fighter?

 

Because he did a good job against jc and also ws robbed when he clearly won in Germany.

 

Nobody has called him great. Id fancy prime Ried to beat Johnson, thats for damn sure.

Fighters are either ATG great or bums on this thread, where has the middle ground gone?!!!!:huh

 

A bit like british and american politics to the right or extreme.

Meh Reid vs Johnson is a 50/50 fight. He was a good fighter that Joe really struggled with. I will give him that he got robbed against Ottke though.

Go take a look on the vid section, i think somebody posted a link, then you can score the fight.

i gave it to joe for by two rounds. joe was carrying a elbow injury in this fight aswel, and had the crowd againt him, the judge who gave the fight to Ried gave it by an embarassing margin, truly ridiculous!

 

Maybe we can use Ottke as a lil bit of a gage. Ried was robbed against Ottke...Johnson wasnt...

 

I can't believe people say "Reid, blah, Mitchell, blah" when Joe has openly stated (and it's probably obvious to many of us) that Eubank was his toughest fight.

When he fought Reid, Joe was suffering badly with a damaged hand and recovering from a bout of food poisoning. It's no wonder his performance was lacklustre. Had Joe been on form and in good health it would have been a different story. Regardless, Robin caught Joe constantly throughout the fight with right hand bombs (as did Woodhall), but they didn't affect Joe much at all. That's not to take anything away from Reid -- he was good at times, had a big punch, but it wasn't enough to take Joe out.

 

I can hook you up. I can also tell you it was AT LEAST 7-5 to Joe.

No but styles make fights, and Johnson was seriously robbed about 5-6 times in his carrer at 168, coming into the Jones fight with 9 losses he only really lost about 3-4 times. No fighter in recent history has been robbed as much as Glen Johnson, and that includes Whitaker.
