He said that Carl "the truth" Williams went down three times with no punch landed? Williams was knocked into the ropes by a beautiful counter left hook and the referee stopped it. Maybe he was talking about Seldon? Those were two knockdowns, though.
Lampley was talking crap. When Mike hit Carl it was with a massive counter left hook as he ducked Carls right hand and Carl went stumbling into the ropes and collasped in a heap. The ref waved it off but Carl only went down once. He may have been thinking about Berbick. But a punch DID land in that fight and Berbick went down on a delayed reaction. As for the Seldon fight that was a shot that barely skimmed his head and Seldon pussed out stumbled like a drunk and the ref stopped it.
I was thinking about Berbick as well, but i couldn't believe he would mix that up. Knocking someone down three times with one punch is quite an achievement, how can you mix that up with no punch landing? atsch I do like Lampley, though. A lot of what he says is incorrect ("Big right hand!" when it was blocked), but he gets you excited.
Carl took one hell of a punch when he was knocked out, it must have been Bruce Seldon Lampley was referring to.
I don't need him to get me excited. I'd rather have somebody give me an accurate description of what's going on in the ring.
Didn't Lampley say that Wllliams went down 3 times? He's probably thinking of the Stewart fight. That was Tyson's last on HBO, barring the Lewis fight with both HBO and Showtime.
