So hard to choose. I went for Golota, because Golota had just battered Bowe in 2 fights and Lewis dealt with him like a ginger step son. Ruddock was a great win... Ruddock was favourite to win and Lewis did what Tyson couldn't. Briggs was fantastic... never have i seen a heavyweight show such a lack of respect for the his hard punching opponent... one point in that fight Lewis drops his hands and moves his head out of the way of 2 punches, smiles and then lands a 1-2 and drops Briggs. Rahman 2 is still to this day my favourite KO... watch it on youtube and turn the volume up... brutal
I would say his biggest victory was establishing such a legacy as a badass when he was really an overconfident, lazy ass who could have been more respected if he applied himself. Lennox is over rated.
If you don't rate any of his competition i hate to think what you think of the Klits CV's because there is no comparison... there are no contenders around today that would last a round with a prime Tua, Briggs, Golota, Grant, Ruddock, Bruno or even Morrison... If you don't rate Lewis's CV you know **** all about boxing... it's not all about the ATG's on your CV but also how good the contenders of the era were. Also that old version of Holyfield was still a multiple belt holder who 14 months previous had stopped Michael Moorer after dropping him countless times... yet again people trying to discredit Lewis's achievements
David Haye a 2 divison World Champion and Lennox Lewis a top 10 ATG HW are pussies? what does that make you then? If 2 guys who fight big men at the top level for a living are pussies what dowes that make a little ****** keyboard warrior like yourself? Now put your Klitschko poster down, put your **** back in your trousers and give daddies laptop back you disrespectful little **** :good
And how would you fair in a fight against macaranelli and Mormeck? you would get made to look even more of mangled **** than you already do so who are you to be calling professional fighters pussies? Lewis fougth better fighters than Vitali through his career and had a legitimate win over Vitali... at 38 after coming in at a career high weight and looking slow and lethargic it was clear he didn't want to fight anymore and couldn't motivate himself to train... after building one of the best legacy's in HW history he was well within his rights to retire at the top
:rofl:rofl still doesn't change the fact you are a clueless **** who is starting to put himself in the same bracket as Bretchko, Bremen and farm boxer
What has that got to do with you calling a pro boxer a *****????? I was making the point that you was calling a man that beat those 2 fighters a *****... when you wouldn't last 2 ****ing minutes against either so who are you to call a pro fighter a *****? **** off moron
My list of Lennox's top 10 wins, in order...... 1. Golota 2. Ruddock 3. Morrison 4. Rahman II 5. Holyfield I (yes I know :nut) 6. Briggs 7. Klitschko 8. Mercer (slightly lower because it was close) 9. Bruno 10. Tua
The win over Ruddock was a good one as it brought him recognition as world level. The Golota win was another good one as he was expected to give Lewis problems the same way he did Bowe. That is the one I would pick followed by Grant who was another fighter expected to give him a hard night.
One people forget was the win over Mercer when Lewis did not have a title and was being shut out of a big fight. He took a hard match for very little gain and came through it(just)
Lewis beat Tyson and was contemplating retiring. He was going to fight an easy figth against Byrd and then a second fight against Tyson for money and retire. King paid Lewis $1m not to fight Byrd and Steward agreed to drop the IBF and not fight Byrd as Byrd was always going to make for an ugly fight and didn't offer anything. Tyson then said he didn't want to fight anymore which ****ed up Lewis's plan of 1 more fight with Tyson for money so Lewis continued to spend time with his family while contemplating retirement. Steward advised Lewis to fight on so the plan was that after 9 months out of the ring he would schedule an easy voluntary to get his eye in (Kirk Johnson) and then fight his voluntary (Vitali) as his last fight if he couldn't make a rematch for an easy money fight with Tyson. Lewis hadn't trained properly and admitted to several people who are quoted in his biography that he wasn't in shape and hadn't trained properly and wasn't in great shape, he hadn't fought in over a year, had sparred with short guys to train for Johnson and then took Vitali at 2 weeks notice... Vitali did well and won the first 4 rounds with Lewis fo the first time in his career looked like he had no foot movement or balance, after that Lewis turned the tide and won the last 2 rounds. Vitalis face was cut to ribbons and the fight was stopped to save Vitali from permanent damage but the truth is.... it was only half way through the fight, Lewis showed against mercer and Bruno he could dig deep and fight through a rough patch and Lewis had won the last 2 rounds, turned the fight in his favour and Vitali was hurt and drapped all over him in the 6th. If the fight had gone on the more likely winner of the fight was Lennox because he had won the previous 2 rounds and was starting to take control. Lewis always planned to retire after that fight and he won, struggled to get in shape for it and had no motivation to train hard anymore... just because your boyfriend didn't get a chance to fight an old, faded, heavy Lewis again doesn't make Lewis a *****
