I agree with whoever said Floyd is made of sterner stuff upstairs than Shane. Look at the difference between Jack Mosley and Floyd Sr. Jack doesn't seem like he has much tactical knowledge and I've never seen Shane make an adjustment based on what Jack told him, nevermind the fact he NEVER knows what friggin round it is. Shane was a great athlete but not much of a thinking boxer. He turned into more a brawler as he went up in weight, who does that? Compare Oscar's and Shane's performance against Mayorga, Shane struggled, Oscar dominated.

Probably just telling shane to at least throw some bombs early to make it seem not TOO obvious he was just there for the money.

I think the Forrest fight is what did it. Before that, I don't think Mosley knew he was beatable. He was a much smarter fighter, a much more versatile fighter. He set some smart traps for De La Hoya, and most of his knockouts came from feinting the jab creatively to set up the right hand (not just winging it haphazardly after pawing). Or he'd insist on knocking his opponent out. That version Mosley I'd favor over Floyd. That disappointed frown of acknowledgment of his opponent nowhere to be found.

    Oh yeah. Burnt Sugar cooking.

Well consider this. Not only did he train Mosley to have that moment of success (brief but palpable and calculated), but he also identified that Pacquiao was still susceptible to an opponent moving towards Manny's right continuously. It's what made me realize Marquez had a real shot going into the 3rd fight. He kept yelling from the corner "He can't do nothin to you from that angle! I solved this dude!" And he did solve him. He recognized that essential sameness that fighters like Marco Antonio Barrera didn't recognize, claiming he was "on another level." Mosley, once again, just couldn't execute.

I came here and was about to mention Nazim talking about the dragon, but you broke it down perfectly. Nazim said that Floyd is no punk and he likes to play defense and fight pretty, but if you hit him in the mouth, he'll try to get back at you.

Part 1 of the gameplan worked beautifully, but part 2 failed

The touching gloves every 5 seconds drove me crazy.
