vargas- he was in with a guy he couldnt dominate physically and he made the adjustments to win emphatically.

God WHY DO PEOPLE always bring up the vargas fight at 154lb? While Prime Vargas may have been the best opponent oscar beat(debatable) Oscar was clearly much better at 135-147lb. I would say either the miguel angel gonzales performance at 140lb, or even the felix trinidad fight at 147lb. Oscar never looked so bouncy on his feet, he dominated trinidad and won 7-8 of the first 9 rounds on any fair scorecard.

Oscar is so underrated a 135lb. he cleaned out his opposition there

Havent seen the Gonzalez or Hernandez fights.

As far as quality of opposition goes, I say the 2nd Mosely fight, that was a terrible decision by those 3 tards... I thought it was Oscar`s best controlled boxing performance vs an elite opponent.

I liked his grit & killer instinct in the Vargas war (which was a much better fight IMO) but as far as `best performance` Id say Mosely II.

I don't like the Chavez fights being brought up too much. Chavez was what, 34? He'd had nearly 100 fights lol. Maybe Oscar looked great but there are other opponents who brought out his truly great performances.

I know Oscar himself believes he was at his absolute best in the first Chavez fight.
Despite the fact Julio was old/past his best etc, I would probably agree.
I don't think Oscar ever looked quite so fluid and light on his feet as he did that night (and I have every one of his fights on dvd).

I vote for the Ruelas fight. It was an utter decimation of a world class lightweight. to me, as Oscar moved up in weight he lost power and stamina. I believe he was at his best at 135-140.
