Probably Vargas. He sucked it up like a warrior that night.

I would say first Vargas then Mayorga. Oscar really fought at a different level against these guys who disrespected him. Vargas talked so much **** about how Delahoya was scared of him and a fake mexican, and most of us saw Mayorga disrespecting Delahoya's wife and slapping him in the head during a press conference.

Delahoya went into these fights determined to knock them out - in his mind, there were no other options.

Vargas simply because he showed so much versatility, he boxed a little, brawled a little, came forward, backed up, landed the straight right, the jab, the left hook , the body shots, overpowered a bigger stronger opponent whom we later found out was roided up. He had some more dominating more impressive wins but this was the most complete as he overcame adversity and made adjustments throughout the fight.

I think sometimes people forget just how good he was at the lighter weights because of how long he fought at 147 and above. He was a damn good welterweight, but absolutely devastating at 135-140. He would've been hell for anyone in history at those weights.

Oscar seems to feel Chavez I was his best fight. I read him saying that he remembers that he was so on for that fight it seemed like everything Chavez did was coming in slow motion, like Oscar was ready for anything Chavez tried or could do and had the perfect response. DLH says he's never felt that way before or since in a fight.

Even though not his best weight. He showed he had some heart in the Vargas fight. After Tito people really questioned Oscars heart.

Then Vargas came out like a ****ing beast that night doing everything right. But Oscar manned up and really put all his skills together for that and had a war with a bigger stronger guy whoa was at or near his best.
