What was really so bad about Vitali's performance against Charr?

Judging from what I saw, he is looking a bit slower. However, isn't that to be expected from a 41 year old who has had quite a few serious injuries throughout his career?

His hand speed seems to be still there, and he still has good head and upper body movement. Charr landed about 2 or 3 rather tame punches in rounds 3 and 4, but they were never actually bothering Vitali.

The two things I would point out is his legs and feet were looking rather heavy, but men who are 6 ft 7 and weigh over 240 pounds aren't renowned for being very nimble. Again, you can contribute this partly to age.

He doesn't appear to have the one punch KO power of his brother or even Haye, but that hasn't been in his repetoir for a while (with exception of the Solis knock out)

Even without the cut, he was always going to beat Charr. Sadly, Vitali didn't look all that interested or even motivated. He knew he was going to win regardless. It was a mismatch from the beginning.

I do think he would be highly motivated to fight Haye given the sheer money it would draw along with the history he has of insulting the Klitschkos.

Haye's speed and movement would present him with a great challenge, just as it would any 41 year old. It's safe to want to fight Vitali at this stage of his career.

However, for Haye to land consistently he will have to take punches himself and from what we can see, Vitali's punches seem to hurt most of his opponents in a way that saps their energy and stamina (something Haye never seems to have in abundance)

    Any opinions on this?

Charr may have been turning things up in round 4, but as we saw in round 2 when he pressed the action he got put down....Vitali on the backfoot, lean back, slip the overhand, counter.....down goes Charr...........no cut and this fight ends in KO

expect David to keep 'slipping' onto the canvas it this fight happens

in order to land anything on Vitali, he would have to engage, take punishment to get inside, and since he's never done that in his HW career, he loses a wide UD

Solis' knee injuries were the result of his jello legs which were the effect of a punch to the temple....even with no knee injury...quite likely he would have been out on his feet and then KO'd

Your argument is stupid. Who cares about what likely would have happened. Solis WAS NOT knocked out. He could not get up due to a knee injury. He didn't even seem that wobbled the punch barely connected.

You're right, he wasn't knocked out....but he was wobbled! enough to oddly place his footing and fall down....the knee injury may have occurred when he stepped funny after being punched in the dome or during his hard landing...either way he was out of it in his corner

Vitali is slowing down, Haye is nothing but talk. Personally, would I root for Vitali over Haye? Absolutely. Do I really feel like that is a fight that will define/elevate boxing or Vitali's legacy? Absolutely not.

Charr didn't really want to fight and he still got knocked down and hit with a clean shot that cut him bad for tko4. Can't really complain too much about Vit.

Would not mind for vitali to give him a rematch, just cause of what happened to him, even thoe he was winning the fight he got cut in, an charr was being a punching bag in his, but i will tell you that was starting to be a real fun beatdown to watch, maybe vitali could give him rematch by the end the year,

The fact Vitaly even made this charade of a fight is a disgrace.
