If you are new to boxing and are going just on his record on boxrec, I would tell you to actually see his fights.

Thomas "hit man" Hearns is the reason i became a boxing fan.when he fought there was always electricity in the air.when a apponent fought Hearns, he knew that Hearns planned on taking him out,it was understood.Tommy took out Duran in two and planned on taking hagler out in three, and he was serious. He wasnt happy unless he got a k.o. for the most part.He was fast and explosive.the most exciting fighter i've ever seen.:thumbsup

The 'Motor City Cobra' was an excellent fighter.
How can anyone question his accomplishments in the ring.
Also, his support for his community.
    How do you measure that.

Anyone remember that fight with Pipino Cuevas.
Up until that time, nobody had ever seen that kind of Knock-Out.

It's a troll, or a Hearns fan who wants to read how good Hearns is.

There is a cliche "The only stupid question is the question you do not ask". That cliche is a myth.

Your question is a perfect example as to why that cliche is a myth.

I know you are a noob and all, but for goodness shake think before you type.

Forgive me if i'm wrong, but from looking at your thread i assume you were not old enough to see 'The Hitman' back in the 80s. If this is the case, i promise you now that they was plenty of greatness about Tommy Hearns. You don't have to win all your big fights to be revered has a great, infact just look at the part he played in the big fights he lost, and to the fighters he lost to.
You amusingly downplay the Duran fight! Firstly what has light middle got to do with anything, and secondly whatever circumstances surrounded the fight, when did anyone ever do that to Duran?
I could go on and give you multiple reasons why Hearns was great, but due to the sillyness of your thread i now can't be bothered. I'm sure you will get the picture of how great he is when you look at all your responses.
