but you can't think of it like that. He would have had a different strategy if he knew he was fighting a 12 rounder.....

So you made a decision of an ATG Fighter from Looking at BOXREC? WOW...What Happened to ESB? This used to be a Fantastic Website for the Hardcore Boxing Fan. Now it's full people who have a strong opinion of a fighter from examining their resumes on BOXREC!!!!

Fair enough if your new to that era. My apology.
Just remember this, boxing was a lot different back then. Tommy and co were'nt protected fighters like a lot of todays stars, they fought the best available, and losing was'nt the end of the world, especially losing epic battles.
Why was Hearns great? Rapier like jab, superb boxer and a murderous puncher who always looked to finish. On top of this he was vulnerable around the whiskers which made him even more exciting, and most of the time even more dangerous.
The Motorcity Cobra is one of the greatest fighters ever. Believe it!

The win over Roldan, the fact that he was in the fight with Hagler! The fact he was in that first fight with Ray.He came back from his defeats and beat genuine class acts.He was always good to watch.Hearns is a bit like(for a brit)Nigel Benn only he competed at a time when the bar was a lot higher.

That was an awesome performance. Cuevas had defended the title 11 times and Hearns blitzed him.

Of course, but to pretend that boxrec is useless is pure ******ation. It's an enormously valuable resource for any non-******ed boxing fan. Also I get sick of seeing donkeys who don't know dick about boxing bag on boxrec, when they SHOULD be spending 15 minutes there doing research before every ******ed post they make.

Boxrec will also tell you SRR was 131-3 the first time he retired after the Maxim bout.
