I have a feeling that this may not get many pages simply because this is a thread for HARDCORE BOXING FANS. And with the large number of Recent Clueless Pacquiao fans ruining the forum...the Hardcore Boxing Fans NO-Longer visit the ESBGF.

I wasnt following the sport closely then since i was too young but what was Chavez-Rosario like? I think i heard Chavez was the underdog. Is that true?

Also i know Chavez must have been the favorite against Camacho but Camacho was a showman so i would think that fight was pretty hyped up.

Why do mexicans and puerto ricans hate eachother that much anyway?
I think trinidad-de la hoya might be a good answer.

    Margarito-Cotto
    Chavez-Camacho/DLH-Tito (tied)
    Sanchez-Gomez
Not too sure about this one..have to really think about it
    DLH-Tito
    DLH-Tito
    Rd 12 Wilfredo Gomez-Lupe Pintor
Julio Cesar Chavez vs Wilfredo Gomez

Overall, Sanchez-Gomez is the most "important" fight in the rivalry IMO, since it pitted Mexico and Puerto Rico at its most elite level against each other.

Nah, we dont hate each other at all....It's just such a fierce rivaly between 2 very proud countries, who happen to produce great boxers. It's bound to get a little out of hand at times :D

I think a fight between the 2 at 135 woulda been better.

'85 Camacho who dominated Ramirez vs '87 Chavez who destroyed Rosario.

any combo of these two in their primes would be fine however I personaly think they purposefully kept Chavez away from Macho at 130 and waited until the Coke and lifestyle did its thing.

I highly doubt that to be honest...Around the time Chavez became champ at 130, Camacho moved up to 135....and after the Rosario scare he moved up to 140....Chavez was still fighting at 130 at the time.

Anyway, at 130 it would of been highly competitive, but id probably give Chavez the close edge. At 135, Chavez beats up Camacho pretty bad IMO.

How is that fight the most dissappointing? :huh

It was action packed and the draw was the right result. It was an easy fight to score.
