It was after they fought and somehow it ended up with Holmes climbing on a car and doing a Liu Kang flying kick???

Larry Holmes had a comeback fight in Florida. Trevor Berbick showed up to the fight and the post-fight press conference. Berbick stood up at the press conference and said Larry Holmes had sent a prostitute to his room before their fight 10 years earlier so Berbick would be drained for their title fight. Holmes laughed it off and left. Holmes' wife and kids were there.

When Holmes walked out Berbick said Holmes had also hit on his (Berbick's wife) and tried to get Trevor's wife to leave him. He said Holmes was trying to ruin his (Berbick's life). Basically, everything bad happening in Berbick's life, in Trevor's mind, was Larry Holmes' fault.

Diane Holmes (Larry's wife) heard it and went back and told Larry what Berbick was saying to reporters. Holmes - who was still amped up from the short comeback fight - got enraged and went looking for Berbick and found him outside waiting in the parking lot where people were mulling around.

Holmes walked up on Trevor and confronted him about what Trevor said about Holmes hitting on his wife and trying steal her from Trevor. Then Holmes reportedly punched and kicked Berbick and shook him up. (Trevor and everyone else said Berbick was yelling a lot but never fought back or threw a punch. He was kind of shocked at Holmes' reaction.)

After the confrontation, crews turned their lights and cameras on and asked Berbick what had happened. Trevor then started yelling that Holmes attacked him (which he did). Holmes was only a few feet away. Still angry, Holmes ran up the front of a car, across the hood and drop-kicked Berbick. The police broke it up.

Again, Berbick didn't fight back. Trevor just called out the wrong guy and Holmes wasn't playing around. And Berbick took his beating and left.

You explained it very well. Rather funny the part about getting protitutes to tire him out. Sort of like Bramble going outside Rosario's hotel room and banging the tops of garbage cans to wake him up.

In the ring and in the street Holmes beats Berbick.

I'm pretty sure even when Trevor dreams he still loses by decision to Holmes!

EDIT: I know Trevor died a few years back. At the time I wrote this I thought it was funny but I guess it may come off as insensitive or rather in poor taste.

My personal highlight was Berbick's attempt at being statesman-like and worldly, shouting at the top of his voice, "Money don't make a champion, don't make a man!"....Quickly followed by his threat to break every bone in Holmes' body in a street fight. Classic stuff.

I think the Holmes-Pepeli post-fight shenanigans might have been even funnier, mind you.

As a person Trevor Berbick always came across quite troubled. A delusional, confused type of guy. He clearly got worse with age. The funny thing is if he wasn’t so good at something he might have got some help. I Quite often wondered what Tv crews, journalists thought of him because he never made a lot of sense. Packing away their cameras and tape recorders they must have wondered what on Earth they had been taping.

As a fighter I think Berbick was quite underrated. Probably one of the most in form fighters Tyson beat during his championship run.

Dubblechin summed it up already. Berbick crashed Larry's first post-fight press conference of his 90s comeback and Larry had mentioned not being interested in a Berbick rematch. Berbick started yelling about Larry sending hookers or something (I think it was "Jenny from Jacksonville") to try and ruin him before their fight and how he tried to ruin his marriage. He then became threatening after Larry left and said that he'd "break every bone in his body" if he wants to street fight...which then led to Holmes confronting him in the parking lot, beating him up, and then capped it off minutes later with that hilarious dropkick that we all love.

Berbick being such a headcase and Holmes being a guy with a temper was the perfect combo for chaos to ensue.

I have to say that I saw Trevor Berbick up close hitting a punching bag sometime in the late 90's at a Toronto boxing gym. What I really have to say is that up close Trevor Berbick was no joke! Even in his late 40's the speed and power he showed while hitting the bag with an assortment of hooks and uppercuts was awesome. I remember a trainer saying that Berbick was mainly an arm puncher (no body/hip drive in his punches) but he was so physically strong he still wacked a lot of good heavys out in his prime. He suffered from some sort of mental illness but unlike Ike Ibeabuchi, he was usually not harmful to others. After seeing that video I must say that Larry Holmes had balls of steel to attack a guy like Berbick and he showed who the real alpha male was. That's the reason Holmes was champion for so many years. Holmes was a much more stable and consistent personality than Berbick as well. Very underrated heavyweight.

I don't think Trevor does much dreaming now.

I'm aware and yes I know, it was insensitive.

    RIP Champ
