What was the big deal about Oscar?!

Lie detector test don't really prove that much.

De La Hoya is a better sportsman and a greater fighter historically than Mosley.

 

Lie detectors prove a great deal for non-career criminals and con artists.

Oscar is not a better sportsman than Shane. Shane fought Vernon back to back, he fought Winky, he fought everyone in his way (excluding Floyd). Shane has done more for the sport in the ring than Oscar could ever dream of.

Shane has fought fighters in their prime, he doesn't wait for big names to fade and then fight them.

 

It's not especially reliable. Otherwise it'd be admissable in more courts than it really is.

Mosley is a drug cheat. DLH is a better sportsman. He may wear women's clothes, but at least he doesn't inject himself in the stomach with EPO and other steroids and then go "I thought they were legal supplements".

 

Sugar Shane says he didn't know and the lie detector confirms his statement. If you don't like it fine, but I don't believe Shane knew that he was taking EPO and HGH.

 

Oscar had charisma, looks, a gold medal, mexican/american and to top it off skill. Was he an ATG fighter? Maybe not, but he was a DAMNED good fighter.

Oscar also had a great a business mind, and had that unique mix that allowed him to cross-over. Very few fighters cross-over from boxing to the general sports world, let alone to water cooler talk around the office.

Oscar was a very special figher in that aspect... and I don't see his successor in sight.
