What was the bigger shock: Rahman win over Lewis or Douglas win over Tyson?

Both where unexpected results for me. Douglas win was something to happen sooner or later and Buster was at the right time in the ring with Tyson ( I thought he was slippin a the fights before). Rahman's win had to do with a lack of concentration and motivation as far as I see it. Lewis was doing a movie just before at it seems he took that fight too lightly.

    Your opinion?

Both were very shocking, but it has to be Buster Douglas. That is in the top 3 biggest upsets of all time in not boxing, but sports

At the time, the Douglas win was probably the biggest upset in boxing history. Tyson was considered invincible and no-one gave Douglas any chance at all, but with hindsight everyone knows Tyson had numerous problems and hardly trained at all so he was there for the taking. I remember listening to it on the radio at work and I was speechless for the rest of the night (I was a big Tyson fan). The way Tyson had been going on in the previous 2 years or so, someone would have beaten him sooner or later and Douglas just happened to be up for it. If this fight had been 2 years earlier, no-one would know who Buster Douglas is.

Lewis - Rahman isn't considered as much of an upset because not everyone rated Lewis (and still don't), and Rahman is no tomato can when he is/was on form. You would have had to followed boxing at the time to know just how fearsome Tyson was considered. Lewis always showed reasons to doubt him in early performances, but Tyson was an animal from a very early age.

again the OP is just trying to start something or he's too young to remember how big Tyson was and what he was in the 80's. That's the only explanation, No.1 LL has been decked by Mccall prior to Rahman fight so although it was an upset, the concept of Lennox catching a flush shot & going down wasn't unimaginable. Tyson on the other hand was looked at as pretty much damn near invincible. Tyson losing made front page worldwide not even a comparison here. I'll lay off the OP because i'm guessing he's like my baby brother (12 years younger than me) He was born in the mid 80's. So he only remembers Tyson from 95 & beyond. So I remembered he asked me after Lennox Ko'd Tyson. Eric What is all they hype about tyson? Why is he more famous than Lennox Lewis. I had to sit him down like an old man and tell him about the tyson "glory years" lol

Cmon dude...Rock was no slouch even though he's been dissapointing plenty of times. That right hand was landed perfectly...he knew what he was doing. His resume was very good leading up to that fight also.

Buster shocked us all , showing us how to blueprint the defeat of Tyson something no1 knew could happen at that time.

Well, this should be the most lop sided poll in ESB history...

...Douglas over Tyson is one of the biggest upset in SPORTS history (top 5 easily), not just boxing history.
