I saw Tyson growing up. In 1986-1988 he was viewed invincible, partly due to his fists, partly due to his opposition, and partly due to the media hyping him.

Tyson reached his peak rating around 1988...but that year he was not tested. In 1988 Tyson defeated a scared Mike Spinks, a fat Tony Tubbs, and an older and inactive Larry Holmes.

By the 1989 he was exposed by Frank Bruno. Tyson won the fight was was badly rocked. It was that moment when I felt Tyson was there for the taking if he fought a strong guy willing to stand up to him. No one thought that man was Douglas, yet a later Douglas cleaned up on Tyson.

I was surprised Douglas won. It was a shocking event that had phone ringing and people talking. Boxing fans will remember where they were when it happened.

I saw Tyson as a great fighter and the best heavyweight of this era (mid to late 80s). I wasn't quite ready to make the leap and say he'd beat Ali or Holmes. They presented matchup problems he wasn't seeing from who was available to him to fight. When he lost his braintrust and support system his skillset deteriorated pretty quickly. But in the 1986 - 88 timeframe he was a bad ass and a great heavyweight.
Tyson fights were events unlike any fighter since and maybe even before.

I know you had a president with Alzheimer's called Reagan at one time, so I suspect Nancy Reagan was something to do with him.

As for the crack smoking. Each to their own, but to the best of my knowledge the favourite subject of crackheads is themselves, which would seem apt for anyone named Mayweather.;)

I dont like Cus but its obvious Cus and team had a big influence and a positive one on Tyson. Tyson was a kid and yes no one could fight for him but Cus helped him greatly.

As for you be careful next time you have to take a large defecation because you may lose a few teeth in the process ...you may want to try another outlet to dump the garbage out of

What are you talking about?? Cus had already died by the time Tyson had won the title and cleaned up the division so your romantic story is baloney..

The only person that's talking **** my good friend is you I'm afraid.

Cus laid the groundwork, framework and mind work, Clayton,Jacobs, Rooney continued the Cus method. Tyson himself said he should have not gone astray and far off the path with the King method

Yeah and that method was doing fine until he bumped into a certain contender who'd just lost his mother...
