I remember Holyfield fighting around that time as well and I was 6 years old

My Dad loved boxing and I had two older brothers who were quite keen on it (still are to this day), but I was the biggest fan of the 3 growing up.

I remember being a little boy watching it by myself as my mum and dad were upstairs and my brother was asleep

Sugar Ray Leonard vs Marvelous Marvin Hagler. I remember the fight well. I thought Marvin got robbed. Ray would only fight the last 30-45 seconds of the round and pop shot throughout. Hagler did give away the first 3 rounds by trying to outbox the Speed Demon. It seems that the judges blatantly missed all the body shots Hagler landed and counted all the shoeshine punches Ray was landing as they hit Marvins gloves. At age 8, I told my Dad that the smaller dark guy is hitting the bald dark guys gloves, is that how you win? My Dad was so pissed that he has never watched another Pro Boxing bout. My Dad retired and I found that I loved boxing more than any other sport by watching one of the most controversial decisions of all time!

 

My dad introduced me to fighting sports when I was young. I remember watching the first jones vs hopkins match when I was in grade 2. I wasnt that interested though, because I thought everyone should fight like ninja turtles.

 

Sinan Şamil Sam vs Danny Williams, I was 10 years old. I remember my dad being worried about Sinan’s health going in, he ended up pummeling Danny. That was the first time I was fully able to comprehend with what I saw in the ring.

 

It was Tyson, I don't recall whom but it was definitely a Tyson fight. I really started paying attention to boxing when Hagler fought Sugar Ray. I think I was 9 or 10.

 

Muhammad Ali losing to Leon Spinks in 1978. The old man was in quite the state of shock over that one and all I kept thinking was did Ali knock all of Spinks teeth out as he looked like a toothless hand bag without his gum shield in.

 

Seen many fights before it, but Morales Barrera was the first fight that captivated me. Watched it in the build up to Naz v Barrera and knew Naz was in for a hiding
