1970s (but mostly the first half of the decade).
    1960s too.

    1990s is a bit overrated.

    1930s are underrated.

    I agree.
Problem is, the poll doesn't allow for "late 50s, early 60s". You have to pick one or the other.

I think the 1980s were as good as the 1990s for heavyweights.
Both decades had some very weak points but produced some decent fighters and decent fights too.
Holmes was still prime in early 1980s, then Tyson in his prime from 1986, and prime Holyfield entered the division in 1988, and there were lots of supporting players, albeit some who were only good for a couple of fights.
I don't see why the 1990s are rated as better.

All eras were awesome. Every one had its own unique set of circumstances, challenges and talented fighters. If I had to pick one as being the best then I might lean towards the 70s. The best fought the best back then.

I think Tyson Fury would be very hard for anyone to beat. I’m not as confident about the other two

They had to fight against each other and they did.

I will admit this is the good thing about those earlier eras, that top fighters didn't avoid each other as much, from financial reasons.

    Define hardest.

Hardest to become champion, most talent at the top, or hardest to progress as a contender?

As some people have pointed out, some eras have more to then than meets the eyes.

The 30s didn't have the best talent at the top, but it was an absolute shark tank.fr up and coming contenders.

Our current era is a strong era IMHO.

You have Fury, Usky, Joshua, and Wilder at the top, and all that they have to do is fight each other.

You have guys like Joyce and Hergovic, at the bottom of the top ten.

We are living in a strong era!

Variety isn't an indication of skill.

In not one of those decades did you have anyone with the skills of Usyk.

Fury dwarfs everyone of note from those eras and yet can BOTH box and brawl.

Boxing is a real sport again.

You really think fighters of the 70's weren't using PEDs?

Can you name one Heavyweight today who required smelling salts to beat a hack like Henry Cooper?

Boxers are more phsyically fit today because training has improved, as has approach. Look at fighters from the dawn of the Queensbury era, they were much more powerful men. Do you think they were on PEDs?

People think we're all little shrimps, but Indians are great at whatever we dedicate ourselves to.

The only hack I know is Usyk.
