Both Hearns and G-man used straight punches, jabs and straight rights, both had a vicious left hook to the body. G-man, Moorer and Hearns all developed great body mechanics so became huge punchers undder Steward, he liked his fighters to go for the KO. Wlad and Lewis had that straight punching style two with great 1-2`s, Steward straightened Lewis`s right hand after he got sparked by McCall.
IMO it was utilizing the basics, setting up everything off of the jab, and being more offensive then defensive. But Emmanuel also had a way of getting to know a fighter personally and building up there mental game as well.
It's not true that I've never heard anyone say it until recently? Interesting news. You are claiming YOU have said it. Why not just dig up someone referencing it if it's been used. I'd honestly be interested in any examples that you have
Manny trained guys to fight to their strengths. Guys that were tall like Hearns, McClellan, Lewis, Vlad etc, used there range. Manny also had guys like Cornelius Bundridge that were very short for their division. He had him fight with pressure and volume that lead him to a belt at 154. No such thing as a Kronk style other than that gym was notorious for hard and heavy sparring.
My statement was that I never heard it during Kronk's heyday (ie. 1980s). Which is absolutely true. I haven't made any false claim or committed any fallacy. I didn't say it wasn't used. But I, personally, never heard it back then. It's probably my fault for not listening properly, but I'm pretty sure I never heard it used in the 1980s. @Dubblechin has a good account of how it was used, and what it meant at that time, though. So I will defer to his better knowledge on this.
