Marco Antonio Barrera vs Amir Khan

It was my first live event, and I had the privilege of watching my all time favorite fighter take on the up and coming Amir Khan. It was a devastating display, and a farcical ending. I won't lie, I struggled to sleep that night.

    Bernard Hopkins vs Jean Pascal

My man Hopkins was making a pretty bold move in fighting Pascal but he went over there and did his stuff. The guys just a master.

Also have a tenner on Mabuza to upset Judah so I'm pretty keen on that fight.

Relevant? He's a little bit more than relevant, the General Forum are almost unanimous in thinking he's going to be clearing out 126lbs in less than 12 months time. Gamboa and Lopez? Soft stuff. Donaire will check hook them both into mediocrity.

I can get excited about an amateur fight if I know one or more of the guys who are boxing. A live amateur boxing fight in Glasgow is much better than half the PPVs featuring "stars" for which some people will pay good money.

I'm a little less impressed by the win than the majority it would seem. Although undoubtedly impressive, Montiel was completely outmatched physically. He looked like a Flyweight in the ring next to Donaire. He was knocked out brutally, a result many of our posters had felt comfortable predicting beforehand. I don't see Donaire being so spectacularly good that he can expect to jump up two divisions and handle the best operators in and around Featherweight, which is some of the talk I've been hearing from even some of the more respected posters in the General. One step at a time.

I guess Khan-Maidana... being a fan of both guys, and knowing both had glaring weaknesses that the other could exploit, this was bound to be a great fight, and it didn't disappoint.

Donaire-Montiel was a great showing for Donaire, and an unexpected ending, but to be honest I didn't really care much about the outcome going into the fight.

Khan-Bradley and Wlad-Haye are the fights I'm most looking forward to next that are actually meaningful to me.
