Yes. That's my pick. It impresses me the most because Dempsey was so much smaller than Willard. I don't think anyone expected that massacre.

Burns was not badly beat up. Yes, he was out weighed, out muscled and out fought, but he was terribly battered at all.

The police who stopped the fight ,said they did so because they feared Burns would be killed.

Really... And where do you get that information from??

Are you aware that Tommy spent the afternoon wasting a small fortune at the racetrack??

The police stopped the fight due to it being a lop sided mis-match, on top of Johnson finally opening up in the 14th round. Tommy was not in need of stitches, nor was his nose broken, nor were teeth missing. Burns insisted that he'd suffered worse punishment in other bouts and also attempted to secure a rematch via Hugh McIntosh.

Burns had two swollen shut eyes ,a torn mouth ,and lips, and a jaw swollen to twice its normal size ,it was at first thought to be broken ,he did not go racing that day ,but did subsequently lose his purse betting on trotting races ,during his stay in Australia.
Burns insisted that had the fight not been stopped he would have won, as Johnson was tiring, he was as full of **** as your post is.

Oops.. You are right about the stitched mouth. My mistake.

"After the fight Burns had to go to the hospital to get his mouth and lower lip stitched. He then went to the races where he supposedly lost a large slice of his 6,212 Pounds".

So other than Burns needing stitches, what else in my post is "bull****"??

Oh, will you politely stick your head through my monitor, so Im in a better position to Knock your block off.

If you are stupid enough to call a few abrasions and a cut mouth a fearful hiding, then you have issues.

"Jaw swolen to TWICE its normal size" He'd look like a ****ing Hippo.

Read Unforgiveable Blackness, and Papa Jack.
N B. Burns did not collect his purse for two days.
Its a bit juvenile ,not to say unwise, to throw out challenges from the safety of a pc screen.Maybe you could knock my block off, maybe you couldn't, but you are in the happy,[safe] position, of not being made to try aren't you ?
    I have issues?
I disagree with you, and you throw out threats from the refuge of your computer ,grow up .
ps. Is that you in your avatar?
If it is, I think it's you with the issues.

Has to be the first Foreman - Frazier bout. Unbeaten Joe being treated like a tomato can by the destructive power of Foreman.

No doubt about it in my eyes - it's gotta be Dempsey-Willard hands down for me - Dempsey looked like a little boy next to Willard and Willard at 6'7" 245lbs+ was actually probably one of the most durable champs in history at the least - he could absord punishment and outlast people and go through anything - Jack Johnson couldn't really put enough of a dent in him over 26 rounds!! Dempsey goes in there probably somewhere in the region of 65lbs the lighter (!!) and dwarfed by some 6 or 7 inches and Doc Kearns off the back of that felt confident enough of his tiger that he bet Dempsey's purse on a first round KO!!?? Crazy!! And then Dempsey goes in there and literally savages him to a pulp endlessly flooring him little no other man had even conceivably come close to (??!!) - no one had ever really hurt Willard to any real extent and tiny little Dempsey was smashing him to peices!! You think about some of the big big heavyweights these days of a relatively similar size to Willard and you imagine a literal cruiserweight coming in and innihilating them like that??!! I think of say a Lennox Lewis (who didn't have the chin or durability of Willard) or a Vlad Klit (who had nowhere near the chin of Willard!!) and even Vit Klit (who probably had something more like approaching the chin of the Tall Pine) - for me they'd all be in serious jeapordy with a Jack Dempsey wanting to pounce for the kill asap like that - there will certainly never be another round ever allowed to get as horrific as that ever again and I struggle to see many fighters in history being able to survive that kind of brutality in all honesty - many a fighter might be able to avoid and weather things and maybe not take the complete beating that Willard took - but Willard was gone from the very first left hook for the first knockdown!!? I don't see many being able to survive for long past that kind of hurt especially considering Willard had one of the great chins in history really and a lot of the guys I'm thinking of throughout history didn't have the capacity to absord beatings that Willard had?!
