the monitors overhead might have added to the judges confusion, as ridiculous as that sounds, because they constantly had the wrong name under the fighters.

I had the fight for Beltran. He was landing the far more damaging shots, even if they were fewer in number. My initial thought is that the view from ringside didn't show the strength of his shots, but you saw it, so that is out the window.

It was very clear the Mexican guy was knocking the other guy around with power and speed and from ringside you could really see how hurt the other guy was all the time. It blew my mind. I turned to the guy next to me and said, could this be a bad bradley-pac type thing going down at one point and he said, no, it's clear the Mexican guy is always in control even though the other guy is hanging tough.

I don't know how those judges got their jobs.

Latin Independence Day. El Salvador and Costa Rica also had their independence day as well.

It was a good close fight! Roman Rocky Martinez ( PR )was the busier fighter while Miguel Beltran Jr. ( MEX ) was landing the heavier and more telling shots. Martinez looked to be more in control in the last few rounds. Being such a close fight during Mexican Independence day, I expected the decision to go towards Beltran. But to my surprise, the Boricua got it. Can't accuse Mexicans for taking decisions just because it's a fight on the Sept 16 weekend. Puerto Ricans would of been crying favoritism if Beltran would of got it.

Has there every been a Mexican who got the decision in a close fight against a Boricua on the eve of PR Pride Parade in NYC?

Close fight and very entertaining, could of gone either way. Maybe we could get a rematch.

    Long live the rivalry.

Idiotic ref had to interfere. Close fight, but Beltran must be gutted to see a warningless deduction costing him the win.
