Are you too ashamed to offer the truth.

Others can reply if they know. Just curious to see what Johnson made for this title fight. I'm thinking it was less than the $21,000 he earned vs Fireman Flynn in 1912, but I could be wrong.

You're wrong on both counts ! He received $31,100 for the Flynn fight from Jack Curley the morning of the fight.Johnson was on a flat guarantee of$30,000 plus $1,100 for expenses and1/3rd of the film rights.Johnson was offered an alternative deal of $20,000 plus33% of the film rights, but opted for the former. I know you were unaware of this which brings me to my next question.
Why would you even argue about something you are totally ignorant about?
You are going solely by a line in BoxRec and choosing that over a meticulously researched biography that took 2 years to research and write!
Surely even a cretin like you can see how indefencible your position is ?

I already correct you with FACTS from Box Rec which is a pool of researching people. Stop using one book as the authority.

    • There was a crowd of approximately 4,500

    • This content is protected
. Two days before the fight, when things looked very bad for a big house, he agreed to take less.

Now, are you going to tell us what Johnson made for his match with Battling Jim Johnson, or not? I only asked three times.

Box rec does not include the Johnson v John Lee fight you mentioned So did it not happen?
Box Rec has Joe Louis listed as 6' 2", he was a actually 6'1.5" source Joe Louis in his autobiography.
BoxRec is a useful aid but not the definitive word.
As Janitor stated if it comes to a choice btween Boxrec and Adam Pollack he would choose Pollack every time and twice on Sundays!

You still can't tell us what the purse was for Johnson vs Johnson How pathetic you are. Measurements in boxing can vary. 1/2" off means little, but we are talking about 1/3 less of a purse here. That is a lot!

Look no one man knows it all, Pollack himself will tell you that. In this case he is mistaken.

YOU ARE A LIAR McVey I contacted the author to quote him exactly he said, " Sorry, but that was not revealed. It remains a mystery."

So produce your source, buying or reading the book won't answer this question.

On the day of the fight Jack Curley gave Johnson a cheque for $31,100 (his guarantee plus training expenses). Johnson had said he would not set foot in the ring unless he was paid in full beforehand. Johnson was actually the only person to make any money from the fight (other than those who bet on him to win). Curley lost a lot. Even Fireman Jim didn't get paid!

Show me where I said Pollack had the information. My info comes from Geoffrey C Ward and I haven't posted it because it isn't verified. You wont like it either ,because it shows emphatically two blacks fighting for the title did not draw. Now crawl back in your hole, you sad ****!
