Not saying you're wrong, but, John L Sullivan mostly fought mixed rules and quite a lot of them were rounds are downs.

Scan his boxrec for "LPR rules with gloves" or some such similar. They are VERY mixed so some fights are like the first round was until a KD but round two was timed.

Point being, I believe compubox skips pre-compubox stats. I'm not sure they even have pre-80s stats. Even if they do, I don't think they're counting John L.

 

And Ibragimov. "You're stinking the place out, you're winning rounds all right, but you need to knock this guy out!".

 

I would say it didn't work as well there but Wlad was starting to land more later on the fight and he should have been given a KD in R9.

Chambers went completely limp with that punch. That was the only stoppage loss of his career, and he faced at least a couple of other pretty decent punchers in Peter and Povetkin. I can't recall ever seeing Chambers hurt at all in any other fight throughout his career.

 

Chambers had a chin but also he was pretty elusive and mobile so the shots often didn't land clean.

 

It's always seemed a bit strange to me.

@dinovelvet is a good, reasonable poster most of the time, but he evidently has an irrational hate for Wladimir Klitschko.

I have mixed feelings about W Klitschko. I hated his dirty tactics in the Povetkin fight, and his unnecessary holding against Pianeta, but I give him full credit for impressively stopping Pulev, Austin, Brock, Barrett, McCline and several others.

 

There's been far more irrational hatred on the forum for guys like Ward , Canleo , Floyd etc.
Remember , most fanboys view valid criticism as hatred.
