What was worse? The headbutts or the cheap shot combo?

Dang. I'm not even a fan of the guy. But I find myself 'defending' him because many people seem to be blinded by their own hatred for him and judge the whole situation with 100% double standards.

Mayweather is no saint, he has a history on this. Hell, I was mad as **** when he did that to Gatti, that was way cheaper than what he did to Ortiz. It was a cheap shot and wrong, I mean this is obvious and doesn't even need pointing out. But it's a fact that all this came AFTER lil' Ortiz ****ed it all up by being a psycho. That's my whole point.

@ thesmokingm: Neither you or I can determine the degree of severity. I've seen guys knock someone else's teeth out or lay them flat on their back by using their head. Facing a headbutt or a sucker punch is equally shitty, but this is a sport that has rules that FORBID you to headbutt an opponent.

Floyd gave Victor fair warning before the fight 'U MAKE ANY MISTAKES AND U HAVE TO PAY'

Victor made a mistake and he payed the price.

But this whole thing IS about the rules!

And why do you think that Ortiz' headbutts weren't a ***** move?

WTF, if he had his hands up Floyd wouldn't have been able to sucker punch him. A sucker punch is a punch where the one who receives it doesn't expect it. If Ortiz had his hands high it would mean that he was ready to fight, therefore Floyd wouldn't have been able to throw or land anything sneaky.

And if Ortiz had his hands up like he should have, he wouldn't have been KTFO and we wouldn't even be having this whole discussion. That's why what he did was worse and the main reason the whole fight got ****ed up.

one was illegal and the other is legal, although frowned upon. In the end, illegal is still worse.

    What is this?

Is this a question of what is much worse? To rob a convenience store or to rob a bank?

    Both are equally bad.

Are the *****s trying to split hairs on who actually committed the more foul deed?

Both are equally bad, but one is legal, the other is not. Both however are unbecoming of a disciple of the Marquess of Queensbury and

At least, no Ortiz nuthugger (if there is such a term) is condoning the headbutt.

Mayweather's punches were legit. Ortiz spent too much time apologizing.

    There was no cheapshot.
    Its a fight.
The ref said lets go 3 times.
If some dumb **** wants to drop his hands, you knock him out.
Especially after he headbutts you intentionally in the mouth.
**** the apology, he is getting knocked out.
No way is he going to get a chance to do it again.

Is it WWE or WWF? Ortiz needs to take acting lessons.............how much did Ortiz make for that what appears to be a prefabricated fight? Wrestlers are much better actors!

    What's the point

    The question could be:

"Floyd Mayweather says coca-cola is a sugary drink - true or false"?

And 50 billion asians, in internet cafes would be clicking "no". And then posting the link on every site they can find, to back them up

Anyone with a brain, who has watched boxing for more than about 2 years, know that stuff happens, and is part of boxing

Headbutt by ortiz showed him to be very stupid and unprofessional and was duly penalized. Cheapshot by Mayweather showed what kind of person Mayweather is and got him a victory. Boxing is not a gentlemans sport for some people.

    Worse?

    More damaging: Floyd's cheapshots obviously.

    More underhanded: Floyd's cheapshots obviously.

Worst of all Floyd has stood by the knockout, clutched to it, boasted about getting a "KO." All that pathetic ****.

Ortiz' headbutts proved to be completely benign. ZERO damage done to Mayweather. And yet. They were what?? Boxing forum fodder? Floyd's buyout? According to Ortiz - "Retaliation for Floyd's elbows?" Bottom line: Floyd's cheap shots ended the fight prematurely. True boxing fans are secretly only upset about this fact and this fact alone.
