It doesn’t necessarily have to be some highly regarded fight. It could just be one of the career defining moments of your favorite fighter. It could be a brutal knockout that you appreciated or just a crazy “oh ****” moment of pure excitement. It could be the best back and forth battle that you remember. One of my favorites was when GSP came back and choked Bisping out for the title. He was my favorite fighter, and I was extremely nervous for him in that fight. I knew he was a better fighter than Bisping but he had everything going against him there. He hadn’t fought in four years, he was fighting a bigger man, and most questioned if he even had the hunger to compete anymore. To see him go out and technically dominate Bisping in the first round was amazing. Then to have to come back from adversity after getting hurt by Bisping’s right hand and getting chopped up with elbows and then finish him in the third was a legendary ending for a legendary fighter. Going out on top as a two weight champion. It was awesome to see Firas, Danahar and Roach celebrate with him, too. Couldn’t have asked for more. What were some of your favorite moments? Dan Severn punching Ken Shamrock in the balls before Shamrock sat him down This content is protected Anyone picking a moment from anything later than UFC VII hasn't seen those IMO
Cro cop winning the openweight grand prix, even though I wanted Nog to win hence my name but seeing the "king without a crown" finally win was a special moment.
That was one of my favorite moments as well. Cro Cop was another one of my favorite fighters. How could he not be? Seeing him run the gauntlet in that tournament through Minowa, Yoshida, Silva and a prime Josh Barnett was very special. His fight against Silva was an absolute masterpiece, too. He battered the body with left body kicks. He countered Wanderlei's forward aggression and right hooks with a few beautiful left hand counters. He stuffed Silva's takedown attempts and just battered him from the top with ground and pound. And finally just took him out by going over the top with his trademark left head kick. That was the last time we saw a prime Cro Cop, too. I know a lot of people attribute his decline in the UFC due to drug testing. But I think the repeated knee surgeries were a much bigger factor. He was an awesome fighter.
100% this the surgeries destroyed his speed, they way he moved in and out of range against Silva was a thing of beauty. Flawless domination, seeing the nearly man who had fallen short in Pride 3 times and in K1 as well finally become a champion was such a great moment. I miss Pride and tournaments that feeling of anything could happen.
I´ve never waited more for a fight than to Chuck Liddell vs Wanderlei Silva and it wasn't even the main event. GSP vs Hughes II was and it was a great moment too.
Like everyone else I find womans mma mostly garbage BUT it was so so sweet to see Rousey getting completely schooled and brutally KTFO by Holm. That was such an unexpected result and Rousey's arrogance was beaten out of her. Also her pathetic children's tantrum aftermath was lovely. Refusing to speak to the media, hiding behind a pillow at the airport etc etc. It was hilarious and wonderful that it happened to her.
Definitely mine, unreal that. Many others have been mention CroCop-Silva, Bisping KOing Rockhold, Holm-Rhonda. I'll added Cain beating up Lesner, iw atched it live with my brother so that was very satisfying. And although it[s been shown multiple times, the Barboza wheel kick on Terry Etim was something else.
They were essentially wearing speedos with apparently no protection for the crown jewels noticeably visible. That must have hurt badly, but Shamrock is such a badass it didn't even seem to faze him. His pain threshold must have been set at 10 since birth.
