Seen Sky Sports Ringside's programme and obviously it's flawed because it only includes Sky Sports fights. My top 6: 1) Whyte-Chisora 2) Kovalev-Ward 3) Santa Cruz-Frampton 4) Eggington-Gavin 5) Thurman-Porter 6) Burton-Buglioni I know some people were not high on Kovalev-Ward as a spectacle but I thought it was a terrific, clean fight and because I scored it for Ward the fight sat well for me in the end. I thought it was a classic fight. Made it a top 6 to squeeze Burton and Buglioni in there.
Agree with those, just a few more I'd chuck in... Murray vs Groves (boring start but was great in the later rounds) Crolla vs Barroso (Looked like he was gonna get a hiding and fought back to win) Eubank vs Blackwell (This was a great scrap despite the tragic ending) GGG vs Brook (was excellent whilst it lasted)
Agree with those except Crolla Barroso. Good fight but I just felt Barroso fought far too moronically for it to be considered a FOTY or even a great win for Crolla. Great win on paper but Barroso beat himself that night by emptying his gas tank in the first three rounds. Crolla just needed to absorb the onslaught with his shell defence. I'd rank Crolla-Linares higher than the Barroso fight on a FOTY list. Another one I just remembered was Glowacki-Usyk. Probably wouldn't break a top 10 list but I really enjoyed that fight, Glowacki laid it on the line.
Conlan-Nelson should be on anyone's imo Santa Cruz- Frampton Whyte-CHisora Crolla-Linares (mostly for the masterclass) Egginton-Gavin That'd be my top 5. If we're doing fights without Brits too then Salido-Vargas has to be there
