Mayweather V Marquez. I was absolutely blown away by Mayweathers talent. His calmness under pressure, timing, counter punching. I gained a real appreciation for the sport that day.

I have no clue. I started watching Thursday night fights from the Olympic Auditorium with my dad in early 1965. For some reason I have always watched intently. The first fight where I can remember who the fighters were which I watched intently was Jerry Quarry vs. Joey Orbillo in December 1966. It was a battle of two up and coming local heavyweights.

Less that six months before the fight they were both undefeated and 9 year old me was very excited about a possible matchup. In the months leading up to the fight they both managed to lose to Eddie Machen, Orbillo by SD and Quarry by UD. It took a bit of luster off the fight but I was still stoked. I was rooting for Orbillo but Quarry knocked him down in the 4th round and won by dominant UD.

Mayweather vs Delahoya. Watched it live at a friend's house. I had seen other matches but only casually and never with serious intent before.

I’ve had a good think about this and the earliest I can say with absolute certainty was Lewis-Tua when I was 13 as I remember getting up at 4am to watch it. Seeing as I got up for that I think I was watching boxing pretty intently from around 1999 so it was probably either a Naseem Hamed or Lennox Lewis fight. I also remember getting up for Hamed Barerra and Lewis Tyson but I was a pretty keen boxing fan by then. I think I started watching boxing from 10 or 11 with my Dad and it could even have been Lewis Holyfield.

There might be a precedent but Lewis vs Tyson and was really a big fan reading about and scoring fights by the time of Marquez vs Pacquiao 1
