I know I wasn't born at the time but personally I wasn't impressed... Before the stoppage, I had Cooper winning every round.
From what I remember from the vid champions forever, not much had landed by either man and Ali was just moving around clowning not taking the whole thing serious, he even got caught while turning his head and talking to Liz Taylor at ringside, Liz was playing Cleopatra at the time and was the biggest movie star in the world, Ali said to Liz 'hello Cleo' and that`s when Cooper nailed, Ali was far better in the rematch and lost weight so that he could be faster on his feet and avoid Cooper`s hook better.
It seemed that Ali was vulnerable to keft hooks as Henry repeatedly nailed him throughout the fight. It was a good thing fir Ali that he was able to get away with using illegal smelling salts.
Mark,....think before you post. Clay may have done some of those cheeky things over there just prior to the actual fight...maybe...(you know he had a good press agent too),... This content is protected .....Mark.
I wasn't impressed! I wasn't over the hill after their second go either or Ali in his fight with Chuvalo or Terrell. it wasn't until the William's go that I believed an all time great was on hand.
