Just rewatched out of interest. Nowhere near the whitewash that I remembered, probably because I had only been watching boxing for half a year or so. Very competitive I had 106-101 for Pacquaio. Gave Cotto rounds 1,3,6,8. Almost gave the 11th but I thought a few Pacquiao straight lefts made the difference. Thing that I did not remember was just how biased HBO crew were that night. F-ck, they were biased. Cotto snapping Manny's head back with jabs, landing solid left hooks and crosses. But all you hear is "second coming of Henry Armstrong". Cotto blocks a flurry and lands a counter left: "Manny is a machine". Cotto dances around the ring and potshots Pacquiao in the 8th: "Cotto looks like he's given up". Cotto blocks and slips a flurry against the ropes: "Miguel can't see the punches coming, the corner should stop this" atsch It was a great fight, and a great performance by Pacquiao but jesus, HBO suck. If you listen to audio only you would think Pac-man put a picture of Cotto on a speed bag and hit that for 12 rounds.
I co-sign this thread 100% Cotto did way better than people admit, and the HBO commentary was horrendous that night, I only watched that fight twice cause of how stomach turning biased they were All of what you said on top of a gift stoppage...................
No takers? Did I not mention Pacquiao's name enough? .....Floyd beats Manny, LewisTKO6, Calzaghe aint ****. And now I wait...
I don't remember exactly but I think I had pac up 9-2 at the time of the stoppage. But those 9 rounds were dominant rounds not close.
Think I gave Cotto two rounds. Have not watched it in a long time but wasn't Cotto down in the third so I don't see how you can give him the round. He did well the rest of the round but you can't score the round for him.
It was a flash knockdown, and I thought Cotto did more than enough before and after to win the round but gets a point taken for the KD. It would be 9-9 but under the 10 point-must system I had 10-10. Cotto won but got knocked down.
hmmm. I've never seen anyone score a round even when it included a knockdown. Without it it was defiantly a Cotto round.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that's how you scored it. If I gave Manny 10-9 I would credit him with i gift point he didn't win. I gave Cotto 10-9, then took a point for KD 9-9, but its 10 point-must so 10-10.
