Rounds 2 and 3 weren't wide rounds for Ortiz - so I knew both of those would be scored for Wilder by officials.

I had it the same as Farhood - and I rewatched it again and scored the same. It seems pretty easy. There was maybe one more round for Wilder that you could give (if you were being super generous). I loved the fight and like Wilder - but think the scorecards were dodgy, as well as the extra time out...

Wilder had a 10-8 round, def won one of the rounds right before the KO. And the third round was close that you couldn't complain from mountaintops if the judges gave it to him, by any means.

But Ortiz was up in that fight and clearly so. Wilder needed something dramatic. And he got it.

I had it 5-4 Ortiz at the time of the stoppage. Or it might have been 6-3 Ortiz.

After a thorough analysis, probably Ortiz up by 1-2 rounds. You gotta factor in defense and Wilder's defense was great.

It was that close of a fight.

    Wow.... highly subjective scores.
    1. Close feelout couple big shots but neither terribly bothered.
    Champ Rd 10-9 Wilder

    2. Ortiz counter L has Wilder pulling his punches and on the back foot. Ortiz has Respect.
    Ortiz Rd 19/19

    3. Follow over from Rd 3. Ortiz pushing uncharacteristically forward, tagging Wilder with the L. Wilder uncharacteristically on steady legs, albiet always backing up. Ortiz Rd 29/28 Ortiz

    4. Continuation of the previous 2. Ortiz Rd. 39/37 Ortiz
5.Continuation of......POW...10/8 Wilder. Ortiz give long count and slow in ending the time... Saved by the Bell. 47/47
    6. Wilder going after Ortiz who comes back toe to toe in final 20.
    Wilder rd 57/56 Wilder
    7. Close rd with both landing hard. Ortiz lands a peach. Another. Wilder hurt. Hanging on. Ortiz putting everything into finishing this. Wilder takes the 30 second 25 punch assault. Ortiz Rd 66/66
    8. Ortiz doubling his normal output. Wilder taking the landed shots well and steer clear of most. Lands some bombs himself. Ortiz Rd 76/75 Ortiz
Rd 9. Wilder fully recovered. Ortiz slows from having believed the glass jaw stories. He couldn't put him down for all his chin and balance deficiency. Wilder hurts him early. Ortiz buckles down and goes back to setting traps. Wilder activity is measured but they both landing heavy leather when the other lands a peach.
    Wilder Rd 85/85

Rd 10... 10/7 Wilder if he didn't beat the living ish out of him and Ortiz could have survived
    95/92 Wilder

I had Ortiz winning every round except two, I agreed with Steve Farhood...................the commentators wondered why the ref gave Wilder extra time to recover, it's called HAYMON BOXING INSURANCE! We all know why Wilder refused to fight Whyte for $4,000,000 but fought Ortiz for far less, Haymon does not control Whyte. Joshua will knock Wilder out!

Here is my scorecard watching live... I was updating this on the RBR, and personally I didn't give a chit who won, so I'd like to think I was pretty non biased. P.S I'm not afraid to call a round 10/10 if there is nothing in it.

    R. 1 Wilder 9 Ortiz 10
    R. 2 Wilder 9 Ortiz 10 (close)
    R.3 Wilder 10 Ortiz 10 (couldn't separate it)
    R. 4 Wilder 9 Ortiz 10
    R. 5 Wilder 10 Ortiz 8 (pulled out a big right at the end) Knock down
    R. 6 Wilder 10 Ortiz 9 (close)

    Wilder 57 Ortiz 57 (Even after 6)

R.7 Wilder 9 Ortiz 10 (wilder out on his feet for the last 40 secs!!, just survives)
    R.8 Wilder 9 Ortiz 10
R.9 Wilder 10 Ortiz 10 (couldn't pick it, both firing off at each other)

    R. 10 TKO Wilder

    After 9 rounds I had:

    Wilder 85
    Ortiz 87

Armchair critic, get your scorecard up there then. I put that down as I saw it. If I couldn't pick it, it was an even round. Judges probably gave it to the Champ, so it could have easily been 85-85

Why keep score in a Wilder fight?

You put it down as you saw it because you don't know how to score a fight. If you score a fight as an armchair judge you will get armchair criticism. Why would you bother publicly post your score if you don't how it's done. My score is the same as yours except rd 3 Ortiz. If you can't separate them on punch count you use the next criteria which is aggression. The guy who is forcing the fight. I agree the punch count was close so you have to give it to the aggressor who clearly was Ortiz. rd 7 Ortiz 10-8. If you don't give that by 2 you are not in the race. Rd 9 Wilder. Nothing more to say about that. 86-83 Ortiz.
