Another typo. I meant 144-143 to Zarate.

Basically put up these scores 2 mins before I left for work all in a rush, so excuse any mistakes. :good

............I thought as much. I agree though, that it was a far, far closer fight than it's made out to be. This was not the robbery so many would have one believe.

Basically by thinking Johnson was outboxing him nearly every round, with Charles throwing hard, but sloppy punches that were mostly missing. He did land the harder punches, but Johnson landed a lot more shots, and basically did too much scoring to overturn the rounds with a few clean hard hits which Charles was sporadically landing with.

I didn't give Charles the extra point for the knockdown either. if I did, my scorecard becomes a little closer, but I still thought Johnson won decisively.

For sure, Pintor went with him all the way and truth be told Lupe getting the decision was not that bad of a call.

For me this fight was kind of frustrating to watch. I kept on thinking when is Zarate going to open up and take the fight to Pintor. He never really did, and it ended up being a tense chess match where only a decisive move or two was determining the winner of the rounds.

It's also a pity that Zarate retired after this fight in protest. I think he could have really enhanced his legacy by taking rematches with Pintor and Gomez - assuming he would win those fights, of course.

    Two rather surprising cards Jimmie.

You really had Duran that close to beating Hagler?

Haven't seen too many give Holmes-Norton to Norton either, and never by so much as 3 points.

Yup thats just my opinion but I watched them both when they where you youtube and ill admitt watching fights on that small kinda bad quality screens kinda screws up my judging. Ive judged fights watching both and have been a couple points off. If I seen them both on my TV in good quality while im more comfertable the cards may be different.
