**** opposition? at the start of his career yes, but Khans for a guy with just roughly 30 fights, has NOT fought **** opposition

Let's compare... Khan won his first title beatng the reigning champion and fellow amateur star, and fellow Olympic silver medallist Andreas Kotelnik.
Both guys won silver becuase the lost in the final to the great Mario Kindelan, Khan won almost every round against Andreas


Adrien Broner by comparison won his vacant title KOing an Argentinian nobody with a padded record called Martin Rodriguez, who had already lost to a guy Broner knocked out years prior

 

Why would it be all over for Garcia if he lost?

Its this moronic notion that fighters who lsoe are finished,that is one of the dumbest thing about modern boxing.

Pretty much all the greats had losses, many against people,you've never even heard of

again, I think Matthysse kills Khan in a pro ring, but don't tell me I don't know about levels when you say winning almost every round against world champion Kotelnik "means nothing"

 

I agree...what im saying is, who would get more 2nd, and 3rd chances without really having to climb back. It seems as though Khan has semi-big fights given to him, and if he gets the Mayweather fights thats just ridiculous.

 

Actually if he takes as many shots from Lucas as he did against Maidana no way he ends the fight on his feet. Even against Maidana he was chickendancing about the whole fight. He could've beat Maidana much easier as well as dominate Garcia. Its low ring IQ and lack of defense holding him back but at this point dont think he gets them.

 

Khan fans keep bringing up Maidana. But Khan barely survived that fight. Maidana put him on ***** street; he just didn't have the energy/accuracy to finish him. There's a reason why he never gave Maidana a rematch (yet begs Garcia for a rematch, how ironic). Another thing is Khan has looked like crap in recent times. I don't believe he has actually improved since switching over to a new trainer. He looked ok against Molina. But if he's had two fights in which he was supposed to appear spectacular but fell short, he's not convincing me he'll ever be elite.

 

What do you mean by "whenever"?? So far he's only rebounded from one of his two KO losses - and even then, he's had to avoid rematching the fighter who KO'd him. He's yet to prove he can rematch from the 2nd KO, and already seems like he's on the decline.

And while he did manage to beat Maidana who many people thought could KO him, he also lost to Peterson who most people expected him to beat.

I was the one who had to be the voice of reason when people started claiming he would be a match for Mayweather after he beat Maidana, I agree Khans fans can be idiots but the guy isn't a ****ing spoon himself

Khan has semi-"star" status like Judah, where important fights continue to be given to him regardless of whether he actually deserves them.

After losing back-to-back in big upsets, Khan should actually be viewed as a journeyman or fringe contender right now, but instead is being eyed for another big fight.
