Unless Pac moves soon, there's more money at 130; JMM is also there, Juarez can fight there, and Valero, Soto and Guzman have the makings of becoming bigger names. Doesn't matter too much though. He'll be dominant anywhere from 140 down, IMHO. Not sure how he would do against Juan Diaz or Pac, but if I think he'd beat D. Diaz or Katsidis or Juarez in a 6 round fight if they were to fight tomorrow. Scary as it sounds, if he wins this weekend, I'll seriously consider putting him in my top 10 (partly because the back end of the 130 top 10 is pretty weak though).
Gamboa vs Amir Khan fight could be very good for determining who is the best prospect in the lower weight classes.
I think he should first try to do something significant at 126...btw, I know a big US broadcast that wants to air one of Gamboa's next fights - either at the end of 07 or at the beginning of 08 if he's successful and impressive on Tuesday...they are already in negotiations with his promotional outlet
i heard from my cubans friends in miami that Barthelemey is looking sharp too.I understand he beat Gamboa twice back in Cuba(of course,Gamboa was like 18,19 yrs old). i already got my tickets for tuesday.
You talk about were the most money is... I talk about what's most comfortable and natural for him. Why pick a weight because of money. He is the best at lightweight. It doesn't matter where he fights, it's about keep on winning, the rest (money, fame, big fights) will come automatically. He isn't protected so that won't be a problem
that's right. but at his age shoudnt make a difference one weight or another so money will be a factor,it doesnt hurt a good bank account.
