All the talk of a Super Heavy Weight division on the basis of the average man has got bigger should properly be started by looking at the middle weight division and working upwards.

On the basis that middle = medium where would you put 160?

Certainly a lot lower than middle. Therefore what poundage should the modern middle be?
    • 168
    • 175
    • 180
Once you get the middle weight right you can then fit in the LHW & HW division.

The divison covering the former 160 class would be given a new name

I think it should stay right where is belongs, at 160 lbs.

    160 for MW is okay
168 for SMW is okay too
180 for LHW would be better then 175
200 for CW can stay where it is
230 for HW would fit into progression
everything over 230 would be SHW

This way we would have the 8-12-20-30 lbs progression in weight, so to make it a difference but not too much. Of course 10 lbs more or less around middleweight makes big difference, but 10 lbs more or less around super heavyweight is not nearly of such importance.

It's the microscopic weight differences in the lower weight classes are a pain in the ass, who cares if one midget is a champion in one midget class and the other midget is a champion in the next midget class 3 lbs more or less, it's just the difference if one visits the toilet before or after the weigh-in, who cares?

How about something like this (1 pound more or less doesn't really matter, just for the sake of the argument):

    110-115-120-125-130-136-142-148-154-160

It would still mean full 10 weight classes up to middleweight, it's more then enough and the weight differences won't be that laughable anymore.

Who cares if it's whopping 8 weight classes up to 130 lbs or only 5, would it matter at all? I think no.

  5. I hate that there is a division between Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight.

    That is all.

Then what would you do? Cut the CW and make HW above 175 lbs? Or extend LHW up to 200 lbs?

Think about the fact the lower weight classes differ from as little as 3 lbs to as much as 8 lbs, even the difference between SMW and LHW is mere 7 lbs (which is not logical since MW and SMW differ 8 lbs) therefore I think LHW would be better of at 180 lbs then 175 lbs.

And you would then cut CW and make LHW to jump 25 lbs up, or HW to fall 25 lbs down? Come on...

How about a right extreme cutdown of weight classes?

110 - 130 - 150 - 170 - 200 and above, just 6 weight classes? Sounds too little, right? But today's surplus of weight clases is to much too...
