Saw a post on here about Len Harvey an old British fighter and learned that he actually competed from flyweight to heavyweight in the early 1900’s. Now I know the weights were a lot different back then but this must have still been a pretty big jump?

So I was just wondering what the weight categories were in lbs back then

It's been 112 going all the way back to Jimmy Wilde; before then things get messy across all weights. @BitPlayerVesti is your man here.

The lowest weight mostly just seems to have been called bantamweight before then, though paperweight was sometimes used too, having weights like 105Ibs or 110Ibs. The two most notable pre-flyweights were Jimmy Barry and Johnny Coulon.

It's a real mess as bantamweight was also used to refer to a higher group of weights too, that guys like Terry McGovern fought at. Johnny Coulon hilariously was champion at both the lower and higher bantamweight limits.
