This. Anber said that Wilder only eats around 2,000-2,500 calories and only eats twice a day when left to eat on his own, which just isn’t enough for a guy with his frame and for the amount of cardio he does.

Here is Wilder’s former chef and nutritionist talking about Wilder’s terrible diet and why he couldn’t hold weight.

“The easy part was that Wilder was already in shape, even though his diet consisted of lots of pizza and even a Whooper every now and again. Before his first title defense last year, he conducted an interview with Sports Illustrated at a Waffle House.”

What we did was tweak it such that the muscle was getting fed every three to four hours and then put him on a strong supplemental program,” Bragg said. “His trainer got with me and sent me all the boxing regulations, which you know I’m used to NCAA regulations and NFL regulations. We had to submit a list of everything that I put him on as vitamins and fish oil and such. We had to submit a list of the brand names and everything to the regulating body before his fight.”

Joshua on the other hand eats around 4,500-6,000 calories in 6 to 8 well planned meals throughout the day. I imagine Joshua would also struggle to hold on weight as well if he didn’t east as consistently as he does.

I’m far more interested in seeing, if Breazeale will be rubbed in baby oil on fight night. According to Wilder, this could mean the difference between the thrill of victory, or the agony of defeat.

I think that's potentially a very interesting question.

When Wilder was winning every fight by highlight reel KO, I couldn't really agree with the criticism of his "Bambi" legs, famine-esque height/weight ratio, or "unconventional" fighting style.

Now that he failed to win a fight, or perhaps even lost one as some claim -- although I don't really agree with that, I do wonder if he'll make some drastic changes.

Y’all talk like Wilder’s proportions are freaky or unnatural- but 6’7” and 210-220 is basically a typical size for a small forward in the NBA. Nothing weird about him at all.

I hope DW comes in at a good 230 , with a good training program and mental confidence to boot . If he comes in like last time he is in for a rough night with Breazeale .

if you guys watch the duhaupas fight youll notice his back and deltoids were huge, and compared to the fury fight he has next to nothing. muscle doesnt go that quick unless you starve yourself or " you know ".

I think Wilder will come in at the same weight as he did in his debut. 207 lbs.

And it will affect his power enough for it to not be gamebreaking single shots especially against a sturdier opponent in Breazeale. I feel he will need heavy combinations this time to stop Breazeale in his tracks. And Wilder is not a combination puncher - either by technique or endurance wise. Also Breazeale will put pressure on Wilder that will affect his stamina and drain the 1 punch KO ability even further. Fury didnt exploit this weaknes enough, but we saw glimpes of it Breazeale however will take this chance and go out with his sword for the KO victory.

But he's not in the NBA, he's a pro boxer.
