Around 223. I'd prefer it if he came in around 228. Either way, 10 or 15 pounds heavier than fight one. Wilder was way too light for the first fight. It was his lightest weight for any fight other than his pro debut, and he was fighting a 6'9" switch-hitting, 260-pound boxer puncher. Not the night you want to come into the ring light and overtrained. With the added weight, I think Wilder's going to be punching harder than in fight one. And I don't think Fury will be able to duplicate his performance in the first fight. Wilder takes his head off.
The crazy thing is he weighed in at 212 but was 209 on the night of the fight. I’m guessing he’s coming in around 220 this time.
He was sick with the flu for the first Ortiz fight. That was reported. And then he spent most of the year in the gym training. First, he was going to fight Breazeale. Then there was talk of a Joshua fight. And that's when all the garbage went back and forth between Finkel and Hearn. Then they got a fight with Fury. And then Fury needed tuneups. And the months drug on and on ... and the opponents' names kept changing. And the guy overtrained. It happens. This time, Wilder fought in November. He got to celebrate the holidays. And he then had a normal eight-week camp. And I expect him to be much sharper for fight II. And I think Fury won't fight as well. He had nothing to lose last time. He had a full year to train. He had a couple tuneups while Wilder sat. He eased into the title fight really sharp. Now he has a big TV deal. He got cut in his last fight. He switched trainers. He hasn't fought in a while. I expect it'll be a short night.
Wilders weight really won‘t matter in this fight because his 210-220 lbs will be enough to ko fury, but they won‘t be sufficient to don‘t get bullied by Fury around the ring. (My prediction: Wilder 222 lbs, Fury 267 lbs)
Too heavy? He was 228 for Szpilka and Duhaupas and he didn't look heavy at all. 260 is too heavy for Wilder. (LOL) When he's in the 220s, he's shredded. For the first Fury fight, he looked like a skeleton.
if he comes in too heavy 220 + he is not as explosive or agile at that weight he is dangerous early on but starts to gas out after the fifth his punch output and counters slow down and he starts to gas and has a hard time finding his target being heavy. if he comes in too heavy he could end up getting stopped himself . i dont think wilder should come in heavier this time , if he does come in heavier he could end up having a hard time catching his target especially towards a slick gypsy fighter like fury look at wilders performances spizka 228 9th round duahapas 228 11th molina 229 9th a prime wilder weighing in that heavy had a hard time putting those guys down . fury is not the kind of guy you want to come in heavier against esoecially if you have a harder time finding your target when heavier. so i will wait until the weigh in to choose who id pick to win
