At 154 Canelo arguably lost toTrout & Lara !! Floyd DEFINATELY beat him
At160 GGG BEAT HIM TWICE!!! Jacobs deserved at least a draw
At175 against the shell of Kovalev he didn't complain Kov was too big, even though at the KO Kov was leading. But That Monster Bivol was just too big for poor little Ginger ??? Nah he was just Too Damn Good & Embarrassed the fraud
His record don't look so good now does it His judges protected him

My post was a rebuttal to the assertion made by the poster I was replying to that Canelo hasn't been "challenged".

his entire venture at LHW is cherry pick. He went kovalev the easiest option beating a very old fighter and then bivol the small LHW as wanted no beterbiev smoke.

They paid cotto to demand that. There was a reason cotto moved up in first place.

After the Bivol fight, Canelo has gone 4-0 against some good competition(unless were holding him to a different standard).

Only thing that "went wrong" is that the Benavidez fight didn't happen.

What? Kovalev and Bivol were both top 3 LHWs when Canelo fought them. Sure, he hasn't fought Beterbiev, who would ever really want to fight Beterbiev when they didn't have to? Why would they pay Cotto to ask them for a catchweight that opened Canelo to criticism for winning the MW at a catchweight? And against a guy who was never able to weigh in at the full MW poundage even on fight night iirc. Cotto moved up because he had exhausted his options at 154 while Martinez was getting old and looking for a retirement payday, an offer Cotto obliged. Cotto himself then got old and looked for one last payday, an offer Canelo obliged.

His post wasn't worth your reply mate.

What's the point discussing with someone who lacks any objectivity and who has to conjure up their own alternative reality with nonsense like Canelo paid Cotto to demand a catchweight, and that Bivol was cherry picked, all just to suit their fanboy type agenda?

The Ginger Ped Man has been handed his titles and important wins. He clearly lost to GGG twice yet was handed the titles and then keeps them away from decent opponents by fighting bum squad row or midgets to pad his record. Any time he fought decent challenges he scraped by with Vegas judging - the Lara decision was complete BS for example.

Notwithstanding his complete PED transformation, he was dismantled so badly by Bivol that the Vegas judges couldn't even save him.

He has ruined boxing by extending Floyd's approach, which has splintered titles by promoters.

He fought and got dismantled by GGG 5 years after GGG's prime, he was thoroughly outboxed by Floyd, Bivol, Lara and to a lesser extent other is. He has ducked Benavidez and numerous other better fights than Jermell Charlo.

He is your Britney Spears of boxing - looks good to the casuals and supported by the power brokers.

From the day he fought Floyd he saw how he went about forwarding his career . He just copied him, dodged the dangerous fighters, lined up his judges to make sure he never lost. Hit the juice till he looked like a miniature incredible hulk.. That's a thought maybe he over did it its deadly stuff. Bivol finished him when he beat the bejabbers out of him he's worth next to nothing now. Anyone that buys that Berlanga cherry pick is being robbed.Bivol took his soul. Stick a fork in him he's done
Floyd slipped up too didn't he. He had that "secret" fight with Gotti, an amateur at best, but it went wrong when Gotti stopped him LOL His judges were powerless couldn't bail him out
so his bogus 50-0 is no more His record is 45-6 at best

“He had the PR machine behind him”

I think you need some perspective. You have to realise that professional boxing is a business. It has to be profitable, people have to make money and get a return on their investment. This isn’t refutable.

He had what it takes. It goes hand in hand, if you have what it takes then you get major financial backing. He was young, undefeated, Mexican and Irish which had an established massive boxing fanbase, Pacquiao and Mayweather were on the way out. He kept on winning. That was the formula that worked for Canelo which attracted the marketing/pr machine. You can’t hate on the guy for that.

What should Canelo have done differently? Choose to be born at a different time and come along in a different boxing era? Choose to have a different lineage? Lose more fights by taking a knee and not beating the ten-count? Should Canelo apologise for any of this?

Yes, his opposition has been alright otherwise, but not facing the best challenger out there still leaves a big hole.

I like Canelo and think this is a shame. Also because Benavidez makes for a great match-up.

BUT!!!!! were all the so called "wins" & a draw Canelo got awarded by the Vegas judges LEGITIMATE wins or merely Gift decisions ? Several have asterisks above them meaning some were very suspect indeed

You're 100% incapable of having an objective opinion about Canelo and FLoyd so your opinions are null and void.

I have a very objective opinion about both Floyd & Canelo. I have absolutely no respect for either of them. Between those two & others they have made the greatest sport in the world look like a second rate WWE Sports Entertainment show. Its no longer a Legitimate Combat sport. A couple of things I have enjoyed recently is seeing Canelo get the ass whipping he has long deserved from Dmitry Bivol. Bivol took his soul he may as well retire now he's been exposed. Even the casuals that followed him are calling him a fraud now with his blatant cherry pickin again Anyon that pays to watch that BS get what they deserve , Royally screwed !!!
Best of all seeing Floyd vainly try to hide his getting stopped by an amateur Gotti ROFL
Even his bogus undefeated record is shot now. He crowed & claimed a win over an MMA fighter making his pro boxing debut as being worthy of his 50th win so his 51st LOSS makes his actual over all legitimate record something like 45-6 at best ROFL
Just keep supporting the con artists, buying their BS scams just don't expect real
boxing fans to follow you they've finally had enough . Have a Nice Day lol
