They both got a lesson taught them . My biggest regret in my whole boxing time was the fact Floyd so blatantly ducked Margarito I would have loved to see Tony have a chance to fight Floyd. I truly believe he could have beaten him
Floyd wanted nothing to do with that fight though I think he knew Tony was too good for him
We'll never knowfor sure will we

There certainly was some extremely close fights where the decision ended up going Canelo’s way, none I consider to be shocking though.

Really?????You didn't consider the GGG fights 1 &2 Shocking?? He made Canelo try to fight back While beating on him. GGG won both Canelo ended up in tears whining " It wasn't fair. GGG roughed me up & beat me up but the ref didn't do anything to stop him ROFL!!!!!!! he was so used to Joe Cortez acting like a Mother hen protecting her chick. They were not close fights at all. The vegas judges looked after Ginger & made sure he didn't lose .
Both Lara & Austin Trout deserved the nod over Canelo too Same scenario though
Even the vegas mafia couldn't stretch the Dmitry Bivol wipe out for Ginger though they did stretch the result to a close113-115 loss in a fight where Canelo didn't win a round lol

He started declining in the Caleb Plant fight. People didn't notice it until the Bivol fight.

He fought against opponents that most people weren't interested in seeing him face and rarely exceeded expectations.

He hasn't fought David Benavidez and most likely never will

Figuratively speaking, every living creature only has a certain amount of sexual energy. It's not a limitless resource. And once your sexual energy begins to wane, as Clenelo's has, figuratively speaking again, you are no longer capable of performing at your sexual peak or maintaining sexual performance with the same vigour and pace as you were in your sexual prime.

This is why Clenelo started jousting industrial amounts of testosterone and PEDs in his buttocks and why he wanted no part of a virile young buck like Benavidez who is at the apex of his sexual prime.

I thought he lost the first GGG fight 7 - 5, I thought he won the second GGG fight 7 - 5, both Lara and Trout fights were very close I can't recall how I scored those. In no way were any of the decisions in those fights shocking or would classify as robberies in my opinion.

168 was the only unstained part of his career for me.

    Was.

    Fight Benavidez.

He was, but honestly I just think he couldn't be bothered to move his head anymore when the guys in front of him didn't have good power. Probably would rather take pitty pats he can counter off of than to have the other guy more gunshy than they already get in there with him i imagine. That started happening after being in a few times with Golovkin, supposedly the most "murderous puncher" on earth. And this Is a late career discipline issue we've seen star fighters have before, and unfortunately the beginning of the end for most.

Why not high guard ,instead of losing rounds getting hit with putty pats, idk I can understand looking for counter shots,I think his hands are really hurt,he did have surgery after Ryder fight or before I can't remember but he was rocking ryder

I'm pretty sure he could have done that and still succeed too, I think it's supreme overconfidence in his ability to take whatever they can dish and that at some point he'll hit them with something fight changing. Remember in the Golovkin fights he had pretty good head movement and countering on power punches from Gennady but was content eating jabs from him to the point it looked like that's all he was landing on Canelo and if we're being honest the real reason he couldn't get the W in either fight. He did a similar thing against Bivol and it backfired spectacularly because Bivols pace was better than his and he couldn't get the same flashy power counters he did with Golovkin. But the bait game has worked well enough on every other opponent and it gets lost on many how much lower guys punch output generally gets when they're in with him , especially as the fight goes on.
