His strengths was that he was very fluid with a relaxed style, a very nice boxer with good fundamentals. Boxed beautiful against Ray Lampkin but against Buzzsaw Yamabe he turned tiger and went out to take Yamabe out, which he ultimately did. But I always think of him as an explosive counter-puncher. Good stamina with a good set of whiskers. He really was a complete package. If he had a fault I might say a bit on the short side, but that didn't seem to effect him much at 135 unless we're talking about his venture up to 140 against Cervantes.
De Jesus was an exceptional LW. Outside of his fights with Duran, he's unbeaten at LW. The unbeaten Ray Lampkin was the #1 LW contender when De Jesus, who also beat Lampkin in a rematch, dominated him. Guts Ishimatsu was the #3 ranked LW contender when De Jesus shut him out, winning all 15 rounds. If you're winning 15-0 against the 3rd best fighter in the world at your weight, its a decent indicator that you're exceptional at that weight.
Strengths: Could heal anyone and come back from the dead. Weaknesses: Easily forgave others' sins and was even ready to die for them. Oh, you meant De Jesus? Sorry, I got the wrong one.
