You got a young undefeated 22 year old kid that looks promising, but has not fought anyone at all, and you throw him into the ring with one of the most dangerous fighters at his weight class and hope for the best? I don't get it. The money was probably better but not worth the gamble. When I saw charlo walking to the ring it looked like he felt bad for what he was about to do to the kid.

They actually thought he would win and that's bad management. The same thing happened with Canelo and Mayweather but Canelo has a whole country behind him and didn't lose any forward motion in his career. Lubin set himself back a ways. I hope he gets back on that horse and stay the course on his growth as a fighter instead reaching for that brass ring too soon.

Lubin and Charlo have the same management I think

The kid is still young so he can still rise to the top if he gets better. Losing a fight doesn't have to ruin your career.

I'd be more concerned about tightening that defense for the future than having the loss on my record.

Either he has a terrible glass jaw to be getting knocked out in the first round, or Charlo is packing heat...

There didn't need to be any hindsight. Foresight could tell anyone that has seen both fight, that Lubin was still several fights away from being ready to jump a couple levels up in opposition quality. His handlers are morons. Charlo hardly threw any punches in the round, but scored a one punch KO. Lubin was frozen sideways on the canvas, leg and arms in the air lol.

Getting iced in 1 round and being stuck on the canvas is never a good look, don't know if he'll ever be the same. Nobody is the same after the first time they lose, much less get brutally K.O'd. He was left twitching...

The kid feasted on some Mexican cab drivers and then expected to have the same success against a proven, hard punching world champion.

Lubin has always looked like a puppy to me. If he gradually raised his opponents level and physically developed a bit more I think he would have bossed it.

This fight was just a boy vs a man, I hope the kid isn't scarred for life after this. Sometimes once you crack you never come back.

don't need hindsight to see that lubin was never going to be on the same level as charlo would happen at any stage of his career

Did anyone notice that Charlo said he would not fight Lara? He wants to fight Hurd who is easy to hit, but he will duck Lara.......................

You're right, but remember that AJ was also thrown in the the deep end vs Klitschko, Spence against Brook, etc., and it worked out for them. Lubin's handlers either overrated their guy or underrated Charlo, or both.

Personally I think that they underrated Charlo, ever since he and his brother got their eyesight corrected they've both looked like beasts. Before that? Not so much, both looked pretty easy to outbox despite obvious physical strengths.

I called Lubin a hypejob before the fight and said Charlo would win. I just find it funny how people who said nothing before the fight are all coming out like they knew what would happen.

Do fans want serious fights or not?
    Sometimes this happens.
He has one loss, not the end of the world. Not every fighter has to follow the Mayweather model.
