Guy, it was Bowe that threw the belt in the trash. You know in your heart that Bowe wanted nothing of the man who stopped him in the Olympics.

Bowe gets a ton of people that love him. He was fluid and his infighting ability for a large man were great. Plus he has the added feather of Futch saying he had the tools to be the best he ever trained at the weight. However a lot of flaws were evident in Bowe's game.
He got hit waaay too much, his ring IQ was not great as he often gave up his advantages. He also had very bad dedication habits outside the ring. Add those up and he was flawed.
His resume is kind of light too. At least for a HOF heavy which he is.

Throwing the belt in the trash was a publicity stunt since he was about to get stripped of his WBC belt anyway. Bowe would have beaten him if they fought at the time.

He would have at the time...but after a little over a year LL would have put his foot in his ass.

Laziness plain and simple. He coasted on natural talent his whole career and when that started to dissipate he was finished.

He was lazy and forgot that boxing is not just about hitting the opponent it's about not being hit

Literally was shot before age 30 due to his inclination to brawl and get hit ... Not saying he couldn't exchange but he took an unnecessary amount of punishment in certain fights
