What were Team Khan thinking?

Breidis Prescott's record speaks for itself really - 20-0, eighteen wins by KO. Khan was knocked down by Michael Gomez in his fight before Prescott. He was also badly hurt by Willie Limomnd. These are guys who are not know renowned punchers, who have mostly campaigned at SFW, let alone LW.

It strikes me that Team Khan couldn't have done much reaearch into Prescott - that they just thought he was a name & that Khan would take care of him. After the fight, Khan's father stated that Prescott was by far the biggest test for Khan to date. Did they not realise that when they sought Prescott as an opponent?

I'm quite surprised that a man of Frank Warren's experience allowed for this match to happen. They know Khan is a bit suspect on the whiskers, so at this early stage of his career, why put him in with a guy who's dangerous, who can can bang? Ok, I know you have to take risks in this sport but Khan is only young.

Prescott stamped his authority straight from the off. He knew what he wanted to do, & seem assured of himself that he was going to do it. Even a solid left jab rocked Khan.

I actually think there was a case for the fight to have stopped after the first knockdown. It was a very heavy knockdown Khan suffered, his legs disobeyed him & he really didn't have his senses about him.

From now, I'm pretty sure we will see more meticulous match-making for Khan.

A lot of people have talked about Gomez and Limond yet failed to mention that Rachid Drilzane put him down. This is a guy without a single knockout win on his record.

He would have had to step up eventually. Many of us knew his Chin was garbage. It would have happened sooner or later I mean he was knocked down and hurt by a guy with like 5 KO's. I am still laughing at how bad Khan's Chin is it is one of the worst I have ever seen.

I don't think it had to anything to do with the matching up of Khan with Prescott. Khan is the better boxer, he should have used that first round to keep distance from a dangerous puncher while setting up a jab. Instead he rushed in and proceeded to go toe to toe with a fighter he obviously had not studied. I have seen only one other Prescott fight, the one right before the Khan fight, in which his opponent nullified most of the power off Prescott's left hand and the fight went the distance. Khan needed to go in there with respect for his opponent's power. He's still a baby really, 21, and had to learn the hard way. Hopefully its not too late for a lesson learned.

i know its crazy how that twat warren let this happen, but its brilliant better now then later, now that he has lost by big KO the
inevitable, so the hype has ended and that left is for amir to learn from this and improve or disappear

Warren is usually the master of finding non threatening opponents with decent looking records, wonder if he's stopped crying yet.

also i think frank warren feeling his age now, he is past his prime i think he should call it a day, he just can not slug it out on the world stage like he used to
he has lost his touch making the best most competetive fights, involving the toughest fighters in britain
he just can not do it anymore he makes silly mistakes which cost him big time.

it is time for HAYMAKER PROMOTIONS :good

Prescott was not a name until last night. He was brought in to brighten up Khan's record. Up to now, Warren has been criticised for putting Khan in with smaller men who can't punch very hard. Last night was a case of bringing in an undefeated young power puncher who was as big as Khan. That way it'd look like tough matchmaking. But Prescott's own record is misleading. Apparently only 5 of his 19 wins were against fighters with winning records. This whole plan backfired in stunning fashion.

Hard to see where Warren and Khan go from here. I think he'll actually go for Thaxton or Arthur next. He can't really afford to go in against a tomato can.

You can see why he was kept away from Thaxton when starting out, though I think he will winn against thaxton...not that it would prove anything other than rehab.

The suspect chin has now been CONFIRMED...

He reminded me of Andy Lee getting hammered by Vera--did not do his homework and thought it was just another nights work

yes alex arthur i like that even though hes a super-featherweight he said himself he finds it tough making weight and he was a world champion a crappy wbo world champion but still a world champion, its a very good comeback fight, tough but if he gets his head right he can win and it aint a tomoto can fight for a comeback.
Warren could get alot of interest in britain for this one :good

if he does the business, then go for thaxton who is still british champ
amir would have 2 of the triple titles then commenwealth & british
then if he wins them then he could go for a real tough solid fight in the european champion YURI ROMANOV who is currently 9th in the ring ratings and he beatdown thaxton

i am going abit ahead of myself here but this is the tough route warren should take him on it is the only way and it will be building him up properly not feasting on tomatoe cans

its the only route to regain his respect from the fans he will be rated top ten in all sanctioning bodies then and the ring belt
if he does all this bring on the top guns casa, pac, kats, juan, campbell, guzman, marqez, diaz and julio
then atlest when he gets ktfo this time it would be a big event from a world class fighter lol
