This was Khan's first test to prove himself and he failed, Frank Warren pulled the curtain over everyones eye's but not mine, I knew Khan was an accident waiting to happen, Warren was trying to built him up to be this Superstar. Frank Warren already was looking past Prescott and had scheduled Khan to fight in his Las Vegas debut later this year. Its not that I don't like Khan its just the fact he himself believed and the public believed he would be a Superstar at such a young age, there's nothing exciting about seeing a fighter get of the floor to stop an opponent in that very same round over and over again. How I would have loved to have been there sitting beside Frank Warren and seeing the look on his face after 54 seconds of the first round.

Obviously you are assuming that Amir writes his own lines for commercials now? It wa a promo to sell a fight on ppv. Did you want him to band over and turn to the camera and say "It's probably gonna be me cos lets face it my chin is shite"?

At the end of the day despite what you yanks think, any british fan with just an inkling of boxing knowledge, knew Khan was overhyped and carefully matched, and as soon as he come up against a half decent fighter WITH A PUNCH,IN THEIR PRIME,would find Khan out,all these people sticking up for him on that respect are just deluded and clueless.
Yes he has good speed, yes he has good power, but the kid cant take a punch end of,an you cant train that, simple fact is,as soon as he comes up aginst a boxer with these attributes,he's liable to be found out again unfortunatly.:?

A british fighter, fighting in britain on a vritish ppv card on a british tv channel. Khan was the name over here and as we all know they are trying in vain to promote boxing to a wider audience. therefore a house hold name is neccessary to achieve this. it does not make him cocky. he is a pawn that is used to sell a brand. nothing more

I feel a little sorry for Khan. I think the hype would get to any 21 year old whos been talked up as much as he has and you've gotta admire his heart trying to get back up after the second kd. The chin will always hold him back but I wouldn't rule out Warren inching him up the rankings with the hope of becoming mandatory to a light punching champ, who they'll probally be waiting a long time for with the LW division so stacked.

Did you expect him to run from challenges his entire career?

It was down to Jorge Rubio. Rubio had been in the corner of the last guy Prescott fought, who's name I cant remember but who lost by a close split decision. Looking at that fight, and seeing Prescott struggle with his fighter, he assumed that he'd be easy pickings for a talented young world-beater like Khan. As such, he recommended him to Warren as a strong but limited fighter that Khan could outbox and quash the rumours that he cant take a punch.

Sadly this plan backfired 30 seconds into the fight when Khan got twatted by that monstrous left-hook.

    High risk, low reward.

Stupid matchmaking. They obviously weren't thinking at all -- Warren and co are just as much to blame as Rubio for even accepting the idea.

    Probably thinking, "WHO NEX?!?"

It's as though they did no scouting whatsoever.

Class, is what they were thinking, class. They thought Khan had too much class for Prescott, and that the 17 KO's were all "cab drivers," ect. It isn't uncommon in this sport for star prospects to be put up against "nobodies" with undefeated records and high knockout percentages. It's a regular occurance.

Even when said prospect has been put down by someone as feather-fisted as Limond? Or put down by a shot Gomez level fighter? Or made to do a Judah-esque-dance-before-being-floored by a very unexceptional fighter like Watson in the amateurs?

Exactly. What they didn't bank on was that Khan can't even take the shots of novice fighters who haven't fought anybody. That's some serious Grade A china that guy's got.:yep

I have never seen a promising fighter blasted seconds into rd one in such devestating manner and amount to anything afterwards. Kahn has grade A China in his grill no cure for that! I take back all the bad things I said about the limeys with respect to Khan. An Andy Lee Type Collapse, guy is going to have a tough time being elite now.
